Japan Earthquake, Europe Fires, India Floods

Let’s pray together today for survivors and families of those involved in each of these situations.

JAPAN: At least 34 died in a 7.1 magnitude earthquake that hit Kumamoto and caused an explosion at a shopping mall Tuesday. Lord, please comfort those who mourn, heal the wounded, and show the lost Your love and salvation.

INDIA: The death toll from floods in Assam state has risen to 78. Lord, please rescue those who are in danger. Give every heart a hunger for Truth and break the chains that bind them to false gods. As local Christians bring aid, multiply their resources and empower them to share Your good news in a way that is easy to understand.

EUROPE: Wildfires killed three firefighters in Crete, GREECE, while an uncontained blaze four times the size of Paris devoured southwest FRANCE; more fires in TURKEY. In Castellón, SPAIN about 10,000 people remain under evacuation orders. Lord, we ask You, please, for rain and a quick end to these fires. Comfort the families of those who died, and show them Your love. Give wisdom to firefighters and leaders, and protect families in such a way that they know You are the One who did that. Bring Christians to aid those in need, and speak through them to show them the way to salvation.

USA: Oregon wildfires have burned 1.5 million acres, and some 6,000 people were ordered to evacuate Tuesday; evacuations also in Sonoma, California. Heavy rains caused floods in Albany, New York, and more storms caused destruction in North Carolina (1 dead), Illinois and other states. Lord, please draw every heart to You in the midst of their loss. Bring Christians to the to help them and show them Your love.  

NIGER: Still no word has surfaced on the whereabouts or well-being of Kevin Rideout, a US citizen and missionary pilot who was kidnapped in October. Father, if he is still alive, please make the way for his quick release. Surround Kevin like a Shield, keeping him from harm. Use him to share Your good news with his captors and others who are their victims.
