Since the kidnapping of Christian missionary pilot Kevin Rideout on October 20, we’ve been praying here at the Prayer Wall for his safety and freedom. Praise God, after nine months of captivity Kevin has finally been released and appears to be in good health.
Last fall, three armed men kidnapped the SIM (Serving In Mission) pilot just outside his home in Niamey. Because they took him to the western Tillaberi region, some speculated his abductors were Islamic jihadist militants. But almost no information has been released about his situation all these months.
At the time of Kevin’s abduction, US President Donald Trump declared his release a “top priority.” Now in the custody of the FBI, Kevin will soon be reunited with his family.

Lord, we praise You for this answer to prayer! You are so great and mighty. Thank You for protecting Kevin. Please restore his strength and heal his heart and mind from any trauma he encountered. Give him a sweet reunion with his family, and bless them abundantly in every way by Your mighty hand. Be a Shield around every kidnapped Christian all throughout this vulnerable region, and make the way for their quick and safe escape or release. Meet their captors and guards in their dreams, and give them visions throughout the day to show them Christ and the way to their salvation. Grip them with both a hunger for Your love and fear of the Lord. Draw them to Yourself and bring them to their knees in repentance. We ask You, Lord, for a great movement of Your Spirit among every Muslim community in all of Africa. Break the chains that bind them to hatred, violence and false religion. Make the way for every heart to know the Truth who sets them free! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
