Pray for those involved in these tragic situations, that God will comfort those who mourn, heal the wounded and draw all people to Himself.
NEPAL: The death toll from Wednesday’s flash floods has jumped to 579 in Nepal, with nearly 2,000 missing; while seven have died in Tibet, CHINA with 554 missing. That same day, a magnitude 4.7 earthquake was reported in Nagqu, Tibet, and a 5.0 on Thursday, also in Tibet. On Friday, a 5.1 earthquake hit Longchang City in Neijiang, Sichuan Province, a few hundred miles north of the floods. Nepal reported a 3.2 magnitude earthquake yesterday at a depth of 70 km.
PAKISTAN: At least 15 newborns died in a hospital fire in Islamabad Wednesday. One was rescued.
RUSSIA: A fire at a gas and chemical plant killed 15 in Amur Tuesday. One was a Russian citizen, the other 14 were foreigners, from CHINA and BANGLADESH. Over 100 people were injured, among those at least 35 Bangladeshis.
FRANCE: A tornado plowed through Pomas, a village of about 1,000 people in southern France, damaging 300 homes and injuring 39 people on Monday.
JAPAN: Heavy rain triggered flooding and landslides in Ishikawa and Toyama Thursday. About 380,000 people have been advised to seek higher ground with yet more rain and floods expected.
USA: The Ross Fire in North Texas has burned 85,003 acres in Palo Pinto and Jack counties, making it one of largest fires in Texas’ history.
Loving Father, we ask for Your mercy, please. Protect and rescue those in danger, heal those who are injured, comfort those who mourn, provide for those in need, and rebuild the lives and homes of those who have lost so much. Do all these things in such a way that they will know You are the One who did that. When they cry out to You, answer them. Perform signs and wonders, miraculous healings, rescues and provision. Protect the children, heal hurting hearts and provide safe shelter, electricity, food and water for those without. Place within every soul a deep thirst for You. Remove every barrier that has kept them from salvation and give them courage to seek You and find You. Bring loving Christians to the lost to share Your Good News. For Christians who are homeless now or who have lost loved ones, please carry them through this difficult time like only You can. Renew their strength and empower them to encourage others around them who are also hurting, offering them hope, a safe shoulder to cry on, and the way to salvation. Bless Christians so abundantly they will also abundantly bless others in need, showing how real Your love is. Bring forth a mighty movement of Your Spirit all across each of these countries and beyond, leading thousands to faith in You. Open the eyes of the spiritually blind to see You as You truly are, and awaken every heart to Your truth and grace. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
