India: Lightning and Monsoons
Lightning killed 49 people this week in Uttar Pradesh, bringing India’s total deaths by lightning since April up to nearly 750, according to AP. More than 200 people in India have died in heavy rains and mudslides this monsoon season, and 42 in Bangladesh. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced.
