California Awakens

In Los Angeles, after thousands of Christians fasted and prayed 40 days for Hope L.A. and teams on the ground shared the gospel with 37,624 people across the county, 30,000 people joined together to worship God in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum April 11. Nearly 4,000 chose to give their lives to Christ, 160 were baptized and more than 530 were miraculously healed.

Oceans Church drew support from hundreds of regional churches to hold a Pentecost Sunday Baptize SoCal event on May 28, 2023 at Pirate’s Cove Beach in Corona Del Mar, where 4,166 people were baptized, making it one of the largest baptism events in US history. On May 2 this year, at Baptize California in Pirate’s Cove, More than 30 local churches joined together, as thousands of people gathered on the rocky cliffs and sandy beach to watch the baptism of hundreds. Then, on Pentecost Sunday May 24, through Baptize America and Baptize the World, 1,600 churches from 49 nations baptized a total of more than 17,910 people in their hometowns.

In addition, various gatherings for University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) students in recent months have brought thousands together to worship God and make decisions for Him.

San Diego is also experiencing an ongoing Christian revival movement, especially through Jesus Culture San Diego and Revive Church of San Diego.

Father God, please protect these new believers and ignite them with passion for Your Word. Set them free from the chains that have bound them to anxiety, fear, depression, addictions, pornography and other strongholds. Tear down every wall that has blocked them from oneness with You, and draw them all the nearer every day. Open up for them the fullness of abundant life in You. When they read the Bible, when they pray, when they worship You, and even as they go along throughout their day, meet with them in powerful ways. Carry them through every trial. Draw them into churches that will love and disciple them well. Transform them so dramatically by Your grace and love others around them will see the difference You make in their lives and also be drawn to You. Call out each of these young people who responded to Your outpouring of love. Show them the paths You have for them and guide them through. Set them on fire with passion for You, until they have surrendered every corner of their lives to You to let You have full control. And use them for Your glory to bring forth Your kingdom here on Earth.

Lord, we see You moving, the way You’re pouring Your love on hearts in the USA and all throughout this world. Thank You, Jesus. We ask You for more! O Father, pour out Your love in increasing measures and unprecedented ways over our churches, our families, our friendships, and over every heart all across this Earth. Don’t leave even one heart dry. Save the lost. Heal the hurting. Bring the ruthless to their knees. Lift up the lonely. Mend what is broken. Set the sinners free. And begin, O Lord, in me. It is Your love we crave. Satisfy me now with that everlasting flow that never runs dry, that love poured out on the cross that purifies, transforms and sets us apart, glowing with Your glory. Ignite all of our hearts now with such love now. Make us Your love-and-truth-spreaders, history-makers by Your hand, planting the seeds of Your Word in the hearts of everyone around us, and watching those seeds take root and grow unto salvation. Because that’s what You do, Lord. You Love. You forgive. You heal. You save. Awaken us to Your love.
