At least 27 Christians were murdered Monday night in simultaneous attacks on several communities near Jos, Plateau State.
“The first attack began at about 10:30 p.m. in Rim village, Riyom County, when Fulani militants opened fire on a civilian guard post, killing two guards, youth leader Solomon Dalyop told TruthNigeria (Masara Kim, August 19). As local guards tried to repel the attackers and protect more than 1,000 residents, shootings were reported about 40 miles away in Chakfem village, Mangu County. A third assault followed in Bin Mperr, a remote village outside the Mangu county seat.
“Dalyop said the battle lasted about two hours and alleged that soldiers stationed roughly three miles away did not intervene despite calls for help.”
Lord, we ask You for protection, healing, courage, love and deep faith for the Christians who survived these attacks. Send angel armies to surround every Christian community in Nigeria, and make those armies continually visible to would-be attackers. Cause Muslim Fulani, Boko Haram and all jihadists and terrorists to tremble in fear, drop their weapons of violence, repent and surrender to You, as You meet them in their dreams every night, in visions throughout the day and in other powerful ways, showing them the way to salvation. Bring the reign of terror to an end in Nigeria. Place a hunger for You in every terrorist heart that drives them to surrender to You. Raise up military leaders and others with the power to do whatever it takes to stop the murders and protect Christians from further attacks. Give President Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu wisdom, courage and provisions to conquer terrorists in his country. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
