PERU: A 5.5 magnitude earthquake shook the Andes Saturday night, killing at least six people, injuring more than 30, and displacing 300.
VENEZUELA: The death toll from last month’s twin earthquakes is now over 5,200, with 16,740 injured. As of Friday, 1,331 aftershocks have been recorded.
USA: Nearly 500 homes were damaged in recent floods in Kerr County, Texas, which rose even higher than last summer, when hundreds of lives were lost.
Five people drowned in the Scioto River in Delaware, Ohio Sunday night.
Mexican drug lord Ismael Zambada Garcia, also known as “El Mayo,” was sentenced to lifetime in prison Monday in New York City. Ismael founded the Sinaloa cartel along with Joaquín Guzmán Loera, known as “El Chapo,” who was sentenced to life in prison in 2019 without the possibility of parole. Ismael is responsible for the shipment of millions of kilograms of lethal drugs to the US and countless murders.
Nearly 100 US service members have been injured this month in IRAN attacks on US bases in the MIDDLE EAST, and 17 have been killed, including three in JORDAN last weekend.
Lord, thank You that Ismael and Joaquín are behind bars. Prevent them from doing further harm to people, and meet them in such powerful ways they will tremble in fear of the Lord, long for Your salvation and love, repent of their sins and be saved. Please awaken every heart in each of these cities, countries and situations to Your love. So much sin, loss and danger reminds us of humanity’s desperate need for You. Please rescue those in danger, comfort those who grieve, heal those who are wounded and speak to the hearts of those who are afraid or hurting. Touch each heart in such personal ways they will at last realize You are the One they long for. When they cry out to You, answer them, O Lord, in a way they will recognize it is You. Give the lost a hunger for peace, meaning, acceptance and love; and then satisfy them with Your felt presence. Bring Christians to them to show them Your love, care for their needs and share the good news of Your salvation. Bless Your people abundantly so they will also abundantly share with those in need around them. Bring Christian counselors, medical workers and other aid workers to those in need. And set the captives free, Lord. Lift the veil from the eyes of the lost so they will see You as You truly are and surrender their hearts to You as Savior. In the midst of every trial and tragedy, push back the enemy’s purposes, and bring forth Yours. Convince us of Your truth. Let us feel Your love like never before. And bring forth Your Kingdom in every heart, home, city and nation. Yes, Lord, awaken the whole Earth to Your salvation. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
