Praise God, 44 children and teachers abducted from schools in Christian communities in southwest Nigeria were rescued July 10 after 56 days of captivity. The intelligence-led rescue comes as Nigeria expands security cooperation with the United States. (Truth Nigeria, July 14)
Lord, we praise You for this answer to prayer, and we ask You for more. Please heal the hearts, minds and bodies of those who were rescued, and give them comfort as they reunite with their families. Please be a Shield around every Christian in Nigeria. Keep them from harm and rescue all those who have been kidnapped. Bring an end to the violence in Nigeria. Visit every Muslim, Fulani and bandit in their dreams, showing them the truth of who You are. March in Your angel armies and crush the enemy’s plans. Pursue every bandit and terrorist with Your relentless love and furious power. Open their eyes to see Your angels guarding those they seek to harm, and bring them trembling to their knees in fear of You and repentance. Give them a deep hunger for You and show them the way to salvation. For every Christian or child persecuted in Nigeria, bring 1,000 terrorists to faith in You, Jesus. For Your everlasting glory and in Your name. Amen.
