Most of us react negatively to situations today because of lies strategically planted by the enemy in our minds and hearts through experiences when we were young.
A bad grade, kids laughing at you, Mom and Dad favoring a sibling over you can plant lies like, “I’m not good enough,” “I’m a failure,” “Why even try?” or “I can’t do anything right.” Growing up in a home with an alcoholic father can plant lies like, “No one cares,” “I have to protect myself,” “I need this,” “I can’t help it.”
Whatever your experiences, the enemy crafted special lies to entrap you your whole life to keep you from fulfilling the unique purposes God created you for. There are people who need to know the Christ in you, precisely because of where you grew up and what you’ve gone through and how Jesus has set you free.
But first, you need to let Him set you free.
Are you ready to rise up and become all God created you to be? Now is the time.
Lord, please set me free from the lies that have controlled my mind, heart and reactions. Redefine me, not by my past failures, but by Your love and truth. Help me see myself through Your eyes and walk out in the abundant life You promise through Your Spirit.
