As US mid-term elections near, the media and others with influence seek to sway voters this way or that. Enemy nations who want to see the downfall of ours are also seeking to insert influence in hidden or unsuspected ways.
Pray those who seek God’s plans for our nation will have greater influence than those who seek the enemy’s. Pray He will block every lie and evil agenda, and bring forth His perfect plans for the leadership positions and other issues presented on each ballot. Pray God will give each voter discernment to see through the slippery wording of items on the ballot and vote against what is evil. Pray He will miraculously raise up leaders in every position who will seek what is good, do what is right and bless our country and people rather than drag it down and oppress. Pray the Lord will speak to every voter and candidate, drawing them to Himself, pressing His wisdom into their minds, hearts, decisions and votes. Pray every candidate and voter will hunger for the love, joy, peace and purpose found only in Christ, seek Him with all their hearts and be saved.
Lord, please restrain wrong and bring forth what is right. Make the way for only those You have chosen to take positions of influence in government, media and in all areas. Block every agenda that is not Yours. Father God, some leaders have worded items on ballots in slippery ways to make voters think they are voting for something good, when it is evil through and through. Please give voters discernment to see what is true and vote against Satan’s plans. Tear down every lie the media, candidates, current leaders, influencers and others have spoken, and move the hearts, minds and votes of every voter Your way. Block and expose any voter fraud, bringing to justice those who seek to manipulate the election. Pursue every person of influence. Give them a heart that hungers for You. Show them how the ideologies, the people, the power, the money, the temporary pleasures, the things they run after have no meaning and cannot satisfy. But how, when they love, when they give what they have to the poor, when they forgive and treat others kindly, when they speak the truth rather than repeating lies, when they do selfless acts that help others, and especially when they choose You as Savior and Lord … joy and meaning finally will flood their hearts. Remind them that YOU are Truth, Love, Joy, Peace. That the very things they truly want in life, deep down inside, are the very names You are. Draw them into Your arms, O God, and save them. Then use them for Your glory to influence many others to seek You with all their hearts and find You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
