Colombia Earthquake, Nigeria Rescue, China Storm, North America Wildfires

Pray for the survivors of each of these events, and for family members who are mourning, that God will meet with them in powerful ways and they will turn to Him and be saved.

COLOMBIA: A 7.4 magnitude earthquake hit the northwestern section of Chocó yesterday, and was felt in Cali and Bogotá. At least 132 people died.

NIGERIA: 33 victims kidnapped on Saturday in the mainly Muslim Tsafe area of Zamfara state have been safely rescued by the Nigerian army.

CHINA evacuated more than a million people due to Typhoon Dolphin, which brought rains, flooding and landslides to the east. A nine-year-old boy was swept into the sea in Zhejiang and is still missing.

CANADA: Wildfires in British Colombia forced the evacuation of 20,000 people along Okanagan Lake and killed an 80-year-old woman. 

USA: Wildfires rage in California, Washington, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Minnesota, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Alaska and South Dakota.

INDONESIA: Wildfires ravage the Mount Bromo area in East Java. Nearly 50,000 firefighters have been deployed and schools are shut due to smoke. More than 264,000 acres were affected by fires January through June this year. Now, the present fires have ripped through another 247,000 acres.

Lord, in each of these locations anxiety has become a heart terrorist. Please draw near to those on edge, those who can’t sleep for fear of yet another earthquake, abduction, fire or storm. Visit the lost in their dreams, speak to them throughout the day, show them how short their time on Earth is and how desperately they need You. Bring Christians and Bibles to them to show them the way to salvation. Cast out their fear with Your perfect love. 1 John 4:18. Open the way for Christians to speak truth, show love, share Your gospel message, and bring medical and other aid, as well as godly counsel to those suffering from trauma. For only in You is there Peace that passes understanding. Philippians 4:6-7. Be a Shield around those in danger. Make a way for Your gospel to reach into every dark corner and topple every lie. Provide fuel, blankets, shelter, food and water in such miraculous ways those in need will know it is from You. Strike every heart with a fierce hunger for Truth and Love. Be larger than the mountains, stronger than the earthquakes, greater than the fires and storms, yet gentle as a dove when You answer their prayers and bring them salvation.

Thank you for these 33 abducted in Nigeria who are now safe, Lord. We praise You for this answer to prayer and ask You to set all the more captives free. For the victims who do not yet know You, we ask You, Lord, to heal them. Step in with Your mighty presence and pour Your love out over them. Help them feel You so near. Lift the veil from their eyes so they will see You as You truly are, and show them Your path to salvation. Give them courage to leave their false religion and turn to You. For their kidnappers, Lord, meet them in their sleep with dreams and visions of Jesus speaking to them, calling them to repentance and offering salvation. Give every one of the kidnappers the same dream, so they talk about Jesus among themselves and choose to follow Him together. Break the chains that bind them to the evil one and replace their heart of hatred and violence with love only You can give. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
