Awakening South America

ARGENTINA: During revival meetings in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego in February, Franklin Graham preached to thousands, and hundreds gave their lives to Christ. Last year in Buenos Aires, nearly 75,000 people showed up for two nights of preaching at the Vélez Sársfield Stadium, and more than 6,800 chose to follow Christ. About 2,500 local churches partnered with Franklin for that event.

PERU: Over 90,000 people packed into the National Stadium to hear Franklin Graham’s message on repentance, salvation through Christ and “coming home to God” during March’s Esperanza Lima Festival. Thousands chose to follow Jesus and more than 2,400 local churches stood ready to help them grow in their faith.

COLOMBIA: The World Revival Center in Bogotá is at the epicenter of a major awakening throughout the country, with huge gatherings on Fridays and Sundays, characterized by the Spirit’s felt presence, miracles, revelation, renewal, visitation and ministering. Services are streamed online to thousands more, even drawing international visitors. With a focus on prayer, worship and rapid church planting, small gatherings of believers quickly grow into large communities.

MEXICO: In March as spring break tourists flocked to the beaches of Cancun, 48 people from Latin America, the US & Europe shared the gospel and baptized 22 in the ocean.

BRAZIL: Evangelical churches are sprouting up at an average of almost 17 a day, with scores of mega-churches hosting tens of thousands in attendance. More than 14,500 people were baptized in the northwest Amazon basin within the first six months of last year, and a Pentecostal church in Rio de Janeiro has 100,000 members.

On the streets of São Paulo we are witnessing something beautiful.

People who had lost hope are encountering Jesus. Tears are turning into surrender.
Stories are being restored.
Lives are being saved.

Every prayer in the streets plants eternal seeds.

God still saves.
God still sets people free.
God still calls.

And what has begun here will reach many more lives.

Presence Revival

• Pray for millions more to hunger for Jesus and surrender to His love and grace.
• Pray for new believers to grow strong in their faith and for God to lead them to Bible-believing churches that will disciple them well and help them rise up to be the men and women of God He created them to be.
• Pray the prodigals who are coming back Home to Jesus now will catch on fire with passion for Him and surrender their lives to His calling.
• Pray we the church will rise up and speak the Truth in love. Pray we will lay down all our opinions and judgments and preach the pure gospel that God loved even the worst of sinners so much — yes, even me — that He gave His Son Jesus, who died in our place, the righteous for the unrighteous, and then rose again three days later. And that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life. It’s not a hope or a myth. It’s a promise. From the God who created us for this very purpose: To know Him, enjoy His great love for us, and bring Him glory. To shine so brightly for Him, others will see His love in us and be drawn to Him, too.

Lord, we see You moving, the way You’re pouring Your love out over the nations. Thank You, Jesus. We ask You for more! O Father, pour out Your love in increasing measures and unprecedented ways over children, churches, marriages, families, work places and every heart all across this Latin America and beyond. Don’t leave even one heart dry. Save the lost. Heal the hurting. Bring the ruthless to their knees. Lift up the lonely. Mend what is broken. Set the sinners free. And begin, O Lord, in me. It is Your love we crave. Satisfy us now with that everlasting flow that never runs dry, that love poured out for us on the cross that purifies, transforms and sets us apart, glowing with Your glory. Ignite our hearts with such love now. May we become Your love-spreaders, history-makers by Your hand, implanting Your truth in hearts and watching it grow unto salvation. Because that’s what You do, Lord. You Love. Forgive. Heal. Save. Awaken us to Your love.

Please protect these new believers and those newly ignited with passion for You. Keep their pursuit of You pure and grounded in Your Word. Purify our hearts and give us the mind of Christ. Teach us to measure our thoughts and what others say about You by what Your Word says. Empower us not only with Your love poured out, but with truth, wisdom, Heaven’s viewpoint, and anointing to preach the gospel and disciple through Your leading. Use us for Your purposes, Lord. We surrender to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
