The deeper the darkness, the brighter Christ’s light shines. Thanks to Islamic radicalism and an extremely oppressive government, Iran already has the fastest growing underground Christian church in the world, with perhaps a million or more new converts. But the present war promises to drive all the more Muslims into the Kingdom of God.
“Every time there’s a war, there’s a great movement toward Christ,” Pastor Georges Houssney of Horizon International recently told CBN. “People become disillusioned with the world and with religion that causes war. Khamenei in Iran and Bin Laden – those two made a huge difference for the gospel because they gave false hope. There are those who ask, ‘Why are we following this religion of destruction, killing, and murder?’ And so they are flocking into the Kingdom through Jesus Christ.” (Lucille Talusan, June 1, 2026)
When two million Muslims fled radical Islamic violence in Syria, “They were walking in the streets (of Lebanon). They had no jobs. They didn’t have money,” Pastor Georges said. “So they started coming to our centers. We had teams going into the streets to meet these people. We would set up a table with Scriptures, and they would ask, ‘What is this?’ We would welcome them and bring them to the center. We started with 20 people, and now thousands have come to Christ.”

Open Doors
With the present conflict in the Middle East, “Our prayer is that the Lord will establish new believers in the faith and make them strong,” Pastor Georges said. “Because if millions of Muslims come to Christ today, we do not have enough people to disciple them. Let’s pray to the Lord of the Harvest to send more workers into His harvest.”
Lord, we praise You for these who have given their lives to Jesus in the midst of so much uncertainty, and for every Christian who has opened their home to Muslim families fleeing conflict. Please miraculously provide for Christians’ needs as they generously care for those in need, and shine Your love through them to the lost. Take down those in power who oppress, and raise up leaders who will bless the people instead, bringing freedom to Iran, especially freedom of religion. Wrap Your arms around those who are injured, imprisoned or mourning loved ones who have died, and let them feel Your comforting presence and know it is You. Meet them in dreams and visions with Your arms open wide, inviting them to salvation. Lift the veil from their eyes so they will see You as You truly are. Give them a hunger so deep for Love and Truth that they search for You with all their hearts and find You. Guide them to Christians, Bibles, websites, social media or other sources where they can find the answers to their questions about You. And awaken every heart in Iran to Your love. Tear down walls of religion, tradition, fear, prejudice and persecution, and bring forth Your kingdom in every village, town, city, home and heart. Multiply Your church in Iran by another million this year, Lord. Hide house churches and Christians from those who seek to do harm, but open the doors to those who long for You and want to be saved. Grow every believer strong in Your Word. Equip them to share Christ and disciple other new believers. May their faith, hope, love and purity shine so brightly everyone around them is drawn to You, Jesus. In Your name. Amen.
