Fear the Lord, not Man – Isaiah 51:12-13

Isaiah 51:12b-13a

How many times have you made decisions based on fear? And how many times have you seen those in leadership making decisions not based on truth or wisdom, but on fear of man?

Let’s pray for those needing freedom from anxiety and fear, that the Lord will expose every enemy lie, tear it down with His truth, and that we will remember what we were created for — not to live in fear or to bully others into living in fear — but to know God’s great love for us, love Him back, and draw others to Him through His love in us. Because “Perfect love drives out fear.” 1 John 4:18

Lord, over the last decade, our country and the world have changed so quickly and so drastically. Persecution has become a reality, and freedom is quickly fading. Remind us, Lord, that You are Greater. That no matter how much power earthly governments and the media seem to have, none can compare even an ounce to Your greatness. They are pushing and shoving and silencing to gain money and power. But it is all soon fading away. For each of those fighting for earthly things will soon pass from this earth. Only Your love goes on forever. Remind us, Lord, not to fear people or policies, but to trust in You, and share Your love at this time in history now when so many need You so desperately. Remind us not to fear what man might do to us here in this world, but to fear only You, O God, for in Your hands lies eternal life or death. May we choose LIFE, and help others also to that choice, O God. Give us courage and faith to rise up and fight for eternal matters.
