Nicholas F Gosselin, 29, a pilot with Associated Mission Aviation (PT AMA), was gunned down last week in Indonesia’s Papua region by the West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB). The separatist rebels also set fire to the plane, but left the other seven passengers, who were locals, unharmed.
The attack occurred just after Nicholas landed his plane in a remote area of Highland Papua province. Originally from Sandy Hook, Connecticut, he worked for AMA in Papua for two years, and had attained the title of Captain.

Pray for Nick’s fiancée Hope Mercugliano, his parents David and Catherine, his brother Matthew, and other family and friends who are mourning. And pray for protection over all Christian pilots in Papua and other volatile areas of the world, as they navigate security risks.
Lord, thank You for Nick’s life spent serving others. Please comfort Nick’s family, especially Hope, Matthew, David and Catherine. Carry them through this difficult time. Meet his murderers in their dreams at night and speak to them throughout the day. Drive them to fear of the Lord and repentance. Give them a hunger for You and make the way for them to hear Your good news in a language they can easily understand. Break the chains that bind them to demons of hatred, violence and murder, and set them free to run to You, O God of Love, and find their true rest and freedom in You. Gather them into Your arms, forgive them and save them. And please protect Christian pilots all throughout the world, especially those in dangerous areas. Give them wisdom, plan their routes, and get them safely to the places You are taking them to do the things You are wanting to do together with them and through them. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
