It is often in the midst of intense hardships and terrible trauma that those who do not yet believe in Jesus long desperately for salvation. Let’s pray those affected by each of these situations will seek Truth with all their hearts, and find Jesus:
THAILAND: An 11-year-old boy driving a truck crashed into a group of 35 Buddhist monks on a walking pilgrimage in Mukdahan province, killing 10. Ten others were hospitalized, one in critical condition. The boy was taken into custody, and his parents may be charged with negligence.
Lord, please draw this boy and his family to You. Give them and the monks who survived a longing for You. Show them You are the only Way, Truth and Life. Bring Christians to them to share Your love and show them the way to salvation.
SOUTH AFRICA: Hundreds of thousands of immigrants have fled the country in anti-foreigner clashes. More than 900 people have been arrested for looting, violence and immigration violations. About ten million foreign nationals have been residing in South Africa, millions of those undocumented.
God of the Nations, please protect refugees on the run from violence and provide for them a safe place to rest. Bring Christians to them to minister to their needs and tell them about Jesus. Open their hearts wide to receive Your good news and surrender to You. Bring to repentance those involved in hatred, prejudice or violence, and show them the way to salvation.
USA: Police in Vinton County, Ohio recently rescued 16 extremely traumatized and mostly non-verbal children ages 1-18 who had been confined to a small space in a house filled with trash. Four adults, Gary Siders (73), Christina Siders (66), Gary Siders II (36) and Elizabeth Siders (33) were arrested for horrific negligence and abuse. Several of the children have been hospitalized for serious injuries, with two air-lifted out.
Father God, please have mercy on these children. Meet them in powerful ways and heal their wounds, minds and hearts. Pour out over them Your love and save them. Let them feel You near, hear Your voice and know that You are real and that You see them and care. Bring to them Christian counselors and doctors who will love them and help them to healing. Place each child in loving Christian homes. We ask You for miracle after miracle in the life of each of these children, Lord. Save them and make them whole in You. Invade the Siders’ dreams and thoughts, relentlessly showing them Your holiness and driving them to repentance and fear of the Lord. Break the chains that have bound them to evil, and set them free to choose You as Savior.
SYRIA: A bomb blast at a cafe in Damascus Thursday killed at least nine and wounded 20.
Lord, please have mercy on Syria. March in Your angel armies to stop the enemy’s plans and bring forth Yours. Comfort those who mourn, heal those who are wounded, and make the way for all to hear Your good news and be saved. Grip every evildoer involved in the explosion with fear of the Lord. Invade their dreams with visions of Jesus showing them the way to salvation.
INDONESIA: Under Sharia law in Aceh province, an unmarried Muslim couple spent four months in prison, and then received 21 lashes each in a public caning Thursday for sharing a kiss during a TikTok livestream.
Lord, give this couple and all who know them a deep longing for freedom from legalism, false religion, violence, hatred and fear. Make the way for every Muslim in Indonesia to hear Your good news. Lift the veil from their eyes so they will see You as You truly are and be saved. O Lord, awaken the hearts of those bound to Islam to know the One who is Truth and Love.
