PAKISTAN: At least 24 died and more than 50 were wounded in a Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) suicide car bomb attack on a train carrying military personnel in Quetta Sunday.
Lord, please comfort those who mourn. We ask You for the heart of every Baloch, that they will hunger for Truth, seek You with all their hearts and find You. Break the chains that bind them to demons of violence and set them free to know the One who offers them abundant life. Make the way for Your Word to be translated in the Baloch languages and made available to every person. Give them dreams and visions that point them to Jesus, for only in You will they truly be free.
DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO: About seven cases of Ebola have surfaced in UGANDA, all linked to travelers from DRC, where more than 900 have contracted a rare Bundibugyo strain that has caused 220 suspected deaths, including medical volunteers. Families of the deceased caused much unrest when they stormed a hospital, demanding the corpses, which are still highly contagious.
Lord, please have mercy on DRC and Uganda. Heal those who suffer, comfort those who mourn, and protect families, children, medical workers and others from illness. Open every heart to desire You, Lord. When they cry out to You, answer their prayers and save them.
BELGIUM: A train hit a school bus, in Buggenhout Tuesday, killing the bus driver, an attendant and two students, ages 12 and 15. Five more children were critically injured.
PHILIPPINES: An unfinished hotel in Angeles City, Pampanga Province, collapsed Sunday, leaving at least four dead and 17 missing.
Please comfort those who mourn, heal those who are wounded, and draw each heart to You, Lord. Bring Christians to them to show them Your love.
SAUDI ARABIA: More than 1.5 million Muslim pilgrims from other countries have descended on Mecca for Hajj.
LEBANON: An ISRAELI strike aimed at Hezbollah terrorists in Mashghara village killed 12 people Monday.
IRAN and the MIDDLE EAST: President Trump is urging Muslim-majority nations SAUDI ARABIA, QATAR, EGYPT, PAKISTAN, TURKEY and JORDAN to join the Abraham Accords, a series of agreements aimed at peace in the Middle East through diplomatic, economic and security ties with ISRAEL. (PAKISTAN rejected the invitation.)
Lord, please bring an end to violence in the Middle East. Urge every leader in Muslim-majority nations to lay down their hatred and violence against those who do not follow their brand of Islam, end terrorism and oppression against their citizens and the citizens of other countries, and come together in peace. Most of all, give every heart a hunger for You so strong they will seek Truth with all their hearts and find Jesus. John 8:31-32, 14:6. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
