In the wake of the hatred and violence of recent days, let us take up the torch of Truth and Love, praying in unity and in Christ’s power. Let us shine so brightly for Him in the midst of this present darkness that those who are lost draw near to His light in us like moths to a flame.
For “We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Ephesians 6:12
Let us dare to be mighty warriors, as those who have gone before us have.
Lord, shine through us with Your light. Empower us to love as You first loved us, to forgive as You have forgiven us, to even give our lives so others can know You, for You first gave Your life for us. Give us eyes to see what You’re doing in the midst of all the chaos and violence, so we can join You there. For no matter how much evil the enemy is doing, You are doing much, much more, and it is good, for You are Good. Give us ears to hear what You’re saying and submit. Mouths to speak Your words and overcome darkness with Light. We invite You to use us by Your Spirit’s power and love to overcome lies with Truth; hatred and destruction and violence with Love and Peace. Give us Your vision and streamline our words and prayers to target the true problem, bringing forth Your right and good resolution. Empower us to hit the mark. Every prayer. Every thought. Every word spoken. Every action taken. Every key pressed. Wherever the flame of our passion for You has dwindled, reignite it now. Reign in us and over us and through us. Don’t let us be swayed this way or that by the voices that scream all around us. Silence the lies, and take down the enemy. Fine-tune our ears to heed only Yours. Destroy satan’s plans, such that destruction and chaos fall upon him now, and he is caught by his own traps. Build Your army of Light and make us mighty warriors for Your purposes. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
