How Are You Doing So Far?

What new year’s resolutions did you make for 2025? And how are you doing with those so far? Have busyness, laziness or weariness brought you down? Have those habitual sins you swore you’d walk away from already pressed back in? And what about anxiety and depression? How are you doing with those?

Of all the new habits to form this year, walking in oneness with Christ is the one that will empower you the most. Only He can change your circumstances, relationships, and especially your mind and heart.

Lord, please empower us to walk out in Your plans and in Your empowering to overcome. Tear down every barrier that has kept us from more of You. Whatever blocks us from listening to Your voice and following Your lead, we ask You to please reveal that and remove it. We want to hear Your voice, feel Your touch and walk out in Your love every moment of every day. Whatever You have planned for this year, Lord, we want to do that together with You. Teach us to lay down all our bitterness at Your feet. To let go of every grudge. To forgive every offense. And just love. Even as You first loved us. Help us to understand those who trespass against us, to see them through Your eyes and to love them as You do. For only when we love will the darkness around us be pierced with true Light. Use us to make a difference in others’ lives. Where we have given in anxiety or depression, pull us out of that now. Lift the cover from over our heads we placed there because we didn’t want to face what we imagined a threat. Remind us that You are on our side. You created us for this. For battle. For victory. For love. Through Your love, we can move mountains. Through faith in You they fall into the sea. We rise up now, O God, and choose to live who You created us to be. Let this year be our year of new beginnings. Begin a new work in us, and don’t stop until You have completed us in Your love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

  1. I didn’t make a resolution, but asked the Lord to continue to show me my Sin. He has been working on thoughts and attitudes for a couple of years. Most recent is criticism. Even when not spoken it affects our attitude. He finally helped me know how to take my thoughts captive and gave me 5 R’s to help me remember: Recognize it doesn’t line up with Phil. 4:8. Relinquish it or Repent; Give it to Him/lay it at the foot of the cross and ask Him to help you. Replace it with scripture. He used the Word to fight the devil. Rejoice. Be grateful/thankful. It will help change a bad attitude. Repeat. As often as necessary.

Hope you enjoy using this too. Your prayers move me to tears at times. They are usually just what I need. Thank you for sharing
