God’s Word for Your 2025

What did God do in your life this past year? Did you ask Him at the beginning of 2024 for a word, verse, vision, purpose, or something else He wanted to speak over the year? How did He fulfill that? Share in the comments, if you like.

Last year, as I asked Him for 2024, I felt Him saying, “Rest. Stay on track and LOVE. Love Me and love others, and you will have done all I desire of you (Matthew 22:37-40).”

So many times during the year, when others pressured me to do something that would take me away from what God was asking me to do, I could feel Him urging me to not give in. If I had done what they said, I would have missed the opportunities God brought into my life to share the gospel, disciple believers or love in other ways.

Don’t let circumstances or others dictate how you feel and respond this coming year. Only Jesus.

Take time today to be alone with the Lord and ask Him what He wants to say over your 2025. Is there a special verse He wants to show you as a theme? Or one of His names He wants to reveal all the more to you? Is there a book of the Bible He wants you to read for the year? How will you purpose to draw all the closer to Him, and let His love flow through you to others this coming year? Ask Him. And then share with us in the comments. It will be exciting to look back at the end of the year and see how He did that.

This year, I feel Him saying that there will be lows and highs, but as I stake myself to Him, He will carry me through and use me to love others through His love. He also spoke the word “warmth,” His breath upon me, moving me where He wishes.

We all face trials. But the difference for those who walk with God is we get to go through them in His arms, and come out the other side changed.

  1. Hi Mikaela! In the last letter I received from one of my friends she included the verse Proverbs 31:25

Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.

And I knew that somehow God told her to put that verse in because it gave me an even clearer reflection into what God was doing this past year.

I was miraculously cured of depression I’ve struggled with on & off for almost 10 years and really spiked this year. And I used to be scared every year for the next months, even as early as August, because of my seasonal depression that would start during fall & last until spring.

BUT like the verse said, as I was going through my bullet journal, I found myself literally smiling because I was excited to see what was going to happen in the next months- and I was looking at February without a shred of fear! And last night, I got a glimpse mentally that I was really strong. Not on my own, but that God has me secure. I just could tell that no matter how scared I can be, I’m a lot stronger and more fearless than the average person because God has my steps and I know He has my steps.

I think that was definitely the verse I’d say God was declaring over my 2024.
