(Updated November 5, 2025) In a multi-front Hamas invasion of Israel on October 7, 2023, Muslim extremists slaughtered 1,200 people and abducted 251, taking them to Gaza. During a weeklong truce at the end of November 2023, 105 were released, and four prior to that. In addition, IDF ground forces rescued several hostages alive, recovered the bodies of several others, and mistakenly killed some who had escaped. Another ceasefire was agreed upon in January 2025, which resulted in the release of 38 hostages, of which 8 were dead.
In the present ceasefire agreement, brokered by US President Donald Trump, Hamas agreed to release all the hostages. The 20 live hostages were released in October.
Pray for the healing of released hostages, and also for the families of those who have died.
Pray for the salvation, healing from trauma and the rebuilding the lives of these hostages who have been rescued or released:

Please comfort those in Israel who mourn the loss of loved ones. Heal both soldiers and victims who have been wounded. For the multitudes who have been terrorized, both in Israel and in Gaza, please touch them and speak to them in evident ways. Rescue them from nightmares, traumatic memories and panic attacks. Fight for them and keep them from further evil. Do it in a way that they know it is You. Whenever someone suffering from anxiety and trauma cries out You, answer them. Speak truth from Your Word and peace to their hearts, showing them Your plan of salvation. Lift the veil from their eyes and let them see You as You truly are. Lion of Judah, ROAR. Speak LIFE, TRUTH and SALVATION over Israel (97% unreached with the gospel) and Gaza (nearly 99% unreached) and everyone else caught up in this fight for land seen has “holy.” Bring a quick end to this war and a safe return to their families for every hostage.
