Revival in Oregon, Hundreds Turn to Christ

On Memorial Day weekend this year, more than 600 people gave their lives to Christ in a small town in Oregon, as close to 13,000 gathered to celebrate the Greater Klamath CityFest. Organized by 53 churches in the Klamath Falls Basin, the weekend celebration included concerts, gatherings, dinners, and various outreaches to prisoners and youth, reported Christian Broadcasting Network on June 14.

The main speaker for the weekend, Andrew Palau, has his own story of redemption. Son of the renowned evangelist, Luis Palau, Andrew ran from the Lord the first 27 years of his life. But in 1993, he took vacation time to join his family in Jamaica on one of his father’s crusades. Luis preached the same sermon Andrew had heard many times, but this time God grabbed hold of his heart and turned him around. He saw how God had transformed the lives of many of the Jamaicans he met, including the woman he later married, Wendy, and somehow the gospel at last made sense. He gave his life to Christ, and soon joined his father’s ministry. Luis passed away in 2021, but Andrew continues to win souls for Jesus, mainly through festivals like this one in Oregon and all throughout the world.

Father God, we praise You for the hundreds of lives You have transformed in the Klamath Falls Basin and beyond. If all of Heaven rejoices when even one soul turns to You, how the Heavens must roar with Your praise now that hundreds, even thousands have chosen Your salvation! What joy it will be to worship You together with them before Your throne one day! Thank You, Lord, for the faithfulness of all the churches and individuals who spread Your love together during Memorial Weekend. We ask You now for all the more. Arrange more events that open the way for revival. Give every person in all of Oregon and the nation a deep hunger that won’t quit until they find You. Break them free from their sin and strongholds. Set every heart on fire for You. Grow these new believers strong in their faith, and use them to reach out to their families, friends, coworkers, neighbors and even strangers with Your good news until every knee bows and every tongue confesses You are Lord. Tear down evil agendas in government, businesses, law enforcement, gangs, prisons, homes and beyond. Bring forth what is right and what promotes Heaven’s purposes. Break the hearts of those bent on breaking others. Turn abusers around to serve the God of Love. Set addicts free. Protect the children. Show them how perfectly You have made their bodies for Your perfect purposes, and draw them into set-apart choices that make You Lord of every decision. Raise up young people who will love You with all their hearts and stand for purity, truth, humility and love. Call from out of their ranks leaders who will step into prominent places in the state and nation where they can lead through Your leading and influence thousands to choose Christ and to stand for what is right and good. We ask You, Lord, to be who You are. Strong. Mighty. Loving. Invincible. Conquer every heart with Your love. Destroy our idols and make them bow to You. Eliminate every enemy plot to keep us from the holy, intimate relationship with You we were created for. And raise up pastors and leaders with strong marriages and lives committed only to You who will lead our churches and communities to know You, love You, and speak Your love both in their cities and among the nations. Bring forth a Great Awakening all throughout the US and the world. In Your precious name, Jesus. Amen.
