About 170 people have died and more than 300 have been injured since fighting broke out once again last week between the Hausa and Berti ethnic groups in the Blue Nile state of Sudan over land rights. This week, protesters filled the streets of the state capital, Damazin, condemning the conflict, which has killed hundreds already this year.
In neighboring Chad, about 50 have died and 300 have been injured in anti-government protests this week.
And in Ethiopia, also adjacent to Sudan, fighting continues as the Tigrayan peoples struggle against oppressive Ethiopian military forces, a conflict which has resulted in thousands of deaths since the war began two years ago.
Let’s continue praying for peace to come to the hearts of all those in conflict, the peace and freedom only found through Christ.
