Most of China’s 20th Communist Party Congress this week will be held behind closed doors, but Leader Xi JinPing’s opening speech has been summarized in a recent article by CNN. Let’s pray for this vast Asian nation of almost 1.5 billion people, suffering through severe zero-Covid restrictions, seeking reunification with Taiwan and influencing so many other areas of the world. With at least 443 unreached people groups and continued persecution of Christians, China is on the list of most dangerous countries in the world for those who want to follow Christ.
Lord, no closed doors can keep You out. Enter into that room where they are meeting and hover there. Sit among the Communist Party leaders as they talk among themselves. Sit in the very seat where Xi is sitting, so that when he sits down he must encounter You. Get up in his face. Invade his space. Speak into his mind and heart, and into the minds and hearts of advisors, leaders and others around him. Haunt their dreams at night. Show up in their presence throughout the day. Pull votes and speeches and signatures in Your directions. Bring about the rise of that which You have fore-ordained, and the fall of that which must crumble. For men and their conquests rise and they fall, but only Your Kingdom lasts forever. In this very meeting, in this very room where decisions will be made that could affect the whole world, block every evil plan for domination, oppression, persecution, war or anything else the enemy wants to use these leaders to do. Tear down the walls that have been built up to hold You out, to prevent people from knowing the Truth that sets them free. For more than who rules the nations or the peoples on this earth, what is of utmost importance is who will bow before the Sovereign One, the Lord God Almighty; who will choose salvation now, before it is too late. Tear down the walls that stand in the way of every person in every people group of every language serving You and spreading Your love to every nation in all the world. Make the way, Lord, for a Great Awakening to sweep across China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and all nations, freeing them from the bondage of sin and death and turning all eyes to You. In Your name. Amen.

They will finish tomorrow. And the people who would report on it are not allowed in the meetings, so not sure we’ll get a straight answer on that. But we’ll keep praying….
