When refugees from Ukraine flooded across the border into the small European country of Moldova (about 188 km from Ukraine’s hard-hit Odesa), Christians scrambled to help. Despite high gas prices, they drove vans to the border to carry refugees to churches, Christian camps, and other safe shelters, and then donated mattresses, sheets and other needed items, as well as cooked three meals a day for them.
Knowing how poor the Christians were, many Ukrainians were “moved to tears” by their love, one pastor said.
Even a Christian children’s home helped by hurriedly converting their building to house more than 117, and then building a chapel so they would have space to counsel and minister to spiritual needs, as well.
The home director said, “If they come today, and we know that tomorrow they will go, we will do our best, everything we can, to share the gospel, because we don’t know if they will have another chance to hear.” (Read the full story at IMB.org.)
Lord, we praise You for how You moved Your people not only in Moldova, but all throughout Europe and the world to help in this time of crisis and to share Your love. Please provide for all their needs as they stretch far and wide to help. Multiply their supplies in miraculous ways, and use them to lead many lost to faith in You. Wherever each Ukrainian is right now, please protect them from harm, provide for their needs, make a way for families to be reunited, give them a hunger for You, and bring loving Christians to them to shine Your light in these dark times. Plant multiplying churches strong in faith, truth and love all throughout Europe, and draw Christians together to minister through Your Spirit’s power as one with You and with each other to those who are hurting and broken, so You will heal them and set them free to worship You. And we ask. You, Lord, to please bring an end to this war and healing to both Russians and Ukrainians. In Your name, Jesus. Amen.

Love the Moldavian people. I worked with the orphans there during several summers between 2005-2010. Thanks for posting this. It’s a reminder that within all the chaos God is still working and has a perfect plan for souls to come to know him.
