I awoke from a dream where a little girl worriedly tugged on her mother’s skirt, saying “Mommy, Mommy! I don’t want to go bye-bye.” Her face still haunts me as I write this.
What devastation. So many mothers and children in Ukraine have been injured and killed, especially after Russia bombed a maternity and children’s hospital yesterday. Let’s continue praying for Ukraine, but also for our own families who face fears of what the future holds.
This post is a word the Lord asked me to share with His people today about trusting in Him and rising up to walk in the purpose He has given you for just such a time as this.
I am here.
This future you dread, the thoughts that spiral you into panic and fear for your children’s future, none of it changes the fact that I am still here. I am still all-powerful. And I still love you and your children more than you can ever imagine. You are Mine. How could I not take care of My children? Matthew 7:7-11.
The trials you are about to face are beyond your control, but never beyond Mine. You may not understand why things are happening so fast in such dramatic ways that affect you and everyone around you. But that’s because you see only what is directly before you, what affects you and how you will be burdened by it.
But I see it all. I see what has happened in the past, what is happening now in every corner of the world you have never seen, and what is yet to come. And My purposes are good.
You have one purpose, My beloved, and it is not to be afraid, or to yell at your kids or some random stranger even. It is not to check out of your troubles with alcohol, depression or some other escape into dark, empty nothingness where you can pretend you have no responsibilities. Your purpose right now, in this present darkness and evil swirling about the world (and all about your own family you somehow thought was immune because you worked so hard to check the right boxes) … is to TRUST IN ME and LOVE.
I will not leave you destitute and alone. For I am here. Same as I’ve always been. You know My Word. You know the end will come one day. That day is not here today. Today, I have given you LIFE. So, LIVE.
Panic is not living. Neither is worry. Or weariness. Or shame. Or sin addictions.
Living is ME. Philippians 1:21. I am your Life. John 14:6. There is one way through this, and I am that Way.
If there is anything you can do to help secure your children’s future, it is to draw near to Me now. Make walking close to Me your highest priority. Get rid of the distractions, and pray.
There are sin strongholds you’ve let go on way too long, My child. There are walls between us. Get rid of those thought processes that lead you and everyone around you into all the more hurt and chaos. You can’t respond to what is about to come the way you have always responded in the past. You must superlove. (Yes, like “Superman,” but no, you must superlove.) You must rise up and love past all the worries about how everything affects you. You must rise up out of yourself and shine My light into every heart around you. Let them see I am real by the way I love through you. For I am the only way they, also, will make it through.
Yes, you will face hardship. Yes, it may be some of the hardest times you will ever face. But I already told you in My Word that in this world you will have trouble. So why are you now so surprised? Do not be afraid and do not be discouraged. No, take heart, My beloved, for I have already overcome the world. John 16:33.
And I will overcome whatever you face ahead, if you let me overcome you with Myself.
Draw near. Follow My lead. And we will do this together.
