What was your first thought when you woke up this morning? Any of these ring a bell?
- “I don’t want to get up.”
- “Oh, no! I’m late!”
- Coffeeeeeee!!!!!!
- Your current problem
- Your schedule and that heavy feeling of pressure that comes with it
- Something that’s worrying you
- “How am I going to pay for … ?”
- Regret
- Dread
If we can get in the habit of making Jesus our first thought, before we open our eyes, before we get out of bed, before we think or do anything else — if we can hand Him our every day to make it His — then we will position ourselves to participate together with Him in the answers to our prayers for the salvation and deepening of faith in the lives of those around us.
Seeing the nations awaken to Christ begins within our own hearts.
Make Jesus your first thought this morning. Ask Him what He wants to do in your heart and in your relationships, in your work and even as you rest.
Because every day is best when it begins with Jesus.
