Continued Prayer for Afghanistan

I am still so grieved, as I’m sure you are, too. Today, I’m reposting this prayer from August 18, because it is still the prayer on my heart, and adding yet more prayer, especially now as the August 31 deadline approaches for getting people out of Afghanistan….

Lord, we ask You to be a Shield around every person involved in helping evacuate people from Afghanistan. Give authorities and rescuers wisdom as they seek out those who need help and make the way for their safe escape. Hide Christians, women, and others who are in danger so that those who seek to harm cannot find them, but those who seek to help them can. Rescue them. Provide for their needs. Get food and water to them wherever they are. Show them clearly how to make it to safety. Father, You know each person by name. Reach into the dangerous situation each is in right now, rise up, and fight for them. Part the enemy armies and make a clear path for them to escape. Do it in such a way that they will know it was You. March in Your angel armies so visibly those bent on violence will see their swords and fiery faces clearly, tremble in fear, drop their weapons and run. If they terrorize in the name of “God,” then show them, God Almighty, who You truly are. Give each terrorist and murderer a revelation so loud, so clear, so undeniable of the fearsome Lion of Judah, the God whose name is Love, they fall to their knees in repentance before You, begging to be saved. If they try to abduct, molest, or rape a woman or child, stand in the way, knock them to the ground, strike them with such terrible immediate pain or disease or debilitation that they writhe in that pain, terrorized themselves in fear of the Lord. For those who even now are hunting down Christians to torture and kill them, send them on such rabbit chases that they end up in a maze of confusion, unable not only to find those they were seeking but to harm anyone else. Send them into such confusion they turn on each other and eliminate the threat that way. 2 Chronicles 20. Rise up and fight for the innocent and needy, Lord. For Christians, for women and children, for the lost who need You and have never heard the Good News. Don’t let them die without the chance to know Your love. Have mercy, please, Lord, and provide a way for all this devastation and death to end. Immediately. For those who have made it to safety, get them into Christian homes and under the care of those who truly love them and will show them the way to freedom in Christ. For the Christians who are still trapped in dangerous places, we ask You, Holy Spirit, to comfort them and speak to their weary hearts. Fill them with Your peace and joy and mercy and grace, and use them to reach out to others in need, and even to their persecutors, to boldly share Your Good News. Open the eyes of the blind. Remove what has stopped up deaf ears. And now make Your message of love and grace so abundantly clear that entire armies of those bent on evil will turn from their wicked ways to trust in Jesus and be saved. Desire of the Nations, You know each of these terrorists by name. Call them out now, Father, every one of them, and release them from the demonic forces that control them. Set them free to know and understand Your love, to receive You as Savior, to worship You alone, and be transformed into agents of grace. Sweep across that nation right now with Your winds of revival. Bury the enemy in a flood of saving grace, washing away all that the enemy meant for harm and ushering in a new era of peace and salvation in the hearts of every person. May Your Kingdom come to every heart in Afghanistan. In Your name. Amen.

Let’s band together in prayer and build a wall of prayer to block the enemy’s plans, and bring forth God’s purposes in this nation and in the world. “For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:1 rsv

  1. It would be so wonderful to get a video of you actually praying these prayers out loud. I don’t know if that would ever be possible. But as powerful as the written prayers are I can only believe to HEAR you pray them would be full of anointing. I am praying in agreement with each one you send. Thank you dear dear sister.

    1. That is so sweet, Kathleen. We have been serving the Lord in a dark area of the world for many years and it has not been safe to have my face or voice publicly accessible for security reasons. One day, the Lord may release me to do that, but for now, we will join together in spirit as we pray. Blessings on you as you pray. May your prayers rise up to Heaven, be mixed with fire from the altar, and God’s answers poured out upon the earth. Revelation 8:1-5.
