Pray for Those Affected by Floods

These past few days have been devastating for families in Humphreys County, Tennessee, where at least 22 people died due to Saturday’s flash floods, and another 37 or more are still missing.

In addition, Tropical Depression Fred swept through Haywood County, North Carolina, leaving 4 dead, and 4 still missing. At least 500 families from Cruso have been displaced by the flooding.

This past month, Germany, China, and other areas have also faced devastating floods.

Lord, we ask for Your mercy. Please rescue those still missing. You know where they are, Lord. Reunite them with their families. Comfort those who are grieving now. Wrap Your arms around them and hold them. Speak gently to them. Let them feel You with them in powerful ways. Give them rest, meet them in their dreams, remind them of Your love and sovereignty during the day, and flood them with Your peace when they cry out to You. Father, so many parents who lost children when the flash floods raged through their area are now blaming themselves for not holding on tightly enough. Comfort their hearts, Lord. Show them Your love. Take from them their guilt, and replace it with Your peace, love, and comfort. For those who don’t know You yet, we pray, Lord, that You will give them a deep hunger for You. As they cry out to You and make vows to You that if You help them they will …, answer them, Lord. Draw them up into Your loving arms and save them. Show them the way through this, and carry them. Draw us all closer to You through the disasters touching nearly every family. We pray, God, for a great Awakening, all throughout this country and the world, in every heart. Bring us back to You. For only in Your love are we truly safe, and truly home. In Your name. Amen.

Let’s band together in prayer and build a wall of prayer to block the enemy’s plans, and bring forth God’s purposes in this nation and in the world. “For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:1 rsv
