Persecution in Afghanistan

Father, as the resurgent Taliban in Afghanistan goes door-to-door executing Christians who will not renounce their faith, please rise up and fight for Your children. Surround every believer with Your angels. Push back evil, and bring forth good. Block every attempt of violent people to harm, rape, murder or even come near Your children and those who have been seeking You. We ask You, Lord, for signs and wonders and miracles. Rescue Christians and seekers in such powerful ways that the lost around them will see Your love and power and turn to You to be saved. As the Taliban pulls people off busses and seizes their phones to see if there is a Bible app or other Christian media or interaction, hide those phones or interactions so they cannot find them and end up releasing Christians. Empower every believer to speak Your truth so clearly and with such a demonstration of love, peace, and joy, that everyone who sees them will long for You, and be saved. Hide every Christian and innocent person and family, and shield them from the eyes and ears of those who wish to do them harm. Encourage them through radio broadcasts and other means, especially those who are isolated. And provide for all their needs. Get water and food safely to them, and sustain them through this horrendous time. Give them courage to share with those who hide with them about Your love. Plant underground churches that will overflow the boundaries of the nation with such love and peace and mercy and joy and grace that thousands will come to faith, especially persecutors. We ask You, God of the Nations, to have mercy on the violent. Release them from the bondage of demons. Lift the veil from their eyes so they can see You as You truly are. Strike them to the heart with such fear of the Lord, that they will drop their weapons and beg You for mercy. Then, in Your grace and mercy, Lord, save them. Only You can transform their hearts. Please, God, this is what we ask You for. Give every persecutor and informer such a powerful encounter with Truth that they abandon the lies they’ve fought for, and turn to fight for Truth and Love instead. We ask You, God, for protection over those who have courageously gone in to rescue those who are in danger, and for Your provision and way of escape for the innocent to get to safety and remain safe. For those who were helping through translation and other ways to bring peace and safety to their country, protect them and rescue them now, Lord, please. And save them. Every lost person involved in what is going on, draw them to Yourself. Awaken every heart in Afghanistan to You. Give wisdom to those involved in arranging those escapes. And settle that whole land with Your angel armies to crush Satan’s plans completely and bring peace. In Your powerful name. Amen.
