“My beloved, I know how you’ve longed for love from that person, those people, who have not returned it in the way you desired. They have falsely accused you, talked behind your back, ignored you, walked over your pain, shoved you aside so they could do what they want, manipulated, twisted your words, pushed you to do things you never wanted to do. They have shrugged their shoulders at things that were important to you, and then dominated the conversation with the things you never wanted to hear. They have sworn promises they never kept, made you be the responsible one in the relationship, blamed you, said hateful things, cut you off, betrayed…. Those people cannot love you with a mature love. So do not look to them to be your best friend, trusting all your secrets to them, counting on them to keep their promises. For they are not yet mature in love. They cannot give you what you seek. No.
“I am your Best Friend, and those who love me and love you truly, they are the ones who will love you as My body is created to love through My love. For they are growing in maturity in Me. So do not seek love from those who cannot give it. They are not there for you. They are there for you to LOVE. As I have loved you. So, forgive them. Bless them. Pray for them. Be kind, gentle, full of grace. Do not push them, but let Me draw them. And move on from your need to be loved by them. For I have already loved you faithfully, everlastingly, as a Husband truly loves His bride. I have loved you when you were not yet mature in My love, when you ignored Me, blamed Me, acted resentfully toward Me. I reached out My nail-pierced hands and loved you, forgave you, died for you to know Me. Truly. As Love.
“I am your First Love, your Husband, your Father, your Brother, your Faithful and True, your Best Friend. I AM.”
