Lord, You promised Your people that if they would humble themselves, pray, seek Your face, and turn from their sin, You would hear from Heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land. We lift that promise up to You now, Lord, knowing You are a covenant God. Are there ways in which we have let pride take over our thoughts and motivate our words and actions? Show us, Lord. Forgive our pride, please. Help us surrender every situation we seek to control into Your hands, handing that control over to You, O Sovereign One. We have worried instead of trusting You. We have been angry instead of responding through Your love. We have looked at situations and people through our own eyes without seeking Your heart for them. And we have been busy about many things we gave greater importance than You. Forgive us, Lord. Draw us back to You. Break our pride, until we humbly submit completely to You as Lord of our lives.
