My beloved bride, today I’m calling you to rest in Me. Don’t be like the wife who rushes about to please her Husband, doing things I never asked you to do and missing out on the one thing that matters. Luke 10:38-42.
Come, sit with Me awhile. Listen to My voice. Hear My heart for you. Let Me hold you, fill you, renew you. Don’t busy yourself so much that you leave Me off to the side, doing what you think I want you to, but never asking Me. I created you for one purpose: Relationship. I chose you as My bride not because I needed a slave, but because I love you. There are so many glorious things I have for you to do together with Me, but you have chosen a million other trivial things to do in your own power. That is why you feel anxious, worried, stressed, worn out, over-extended, short-tempered.
Come, My love, rest in Me, and I will renew your strength like the eagle’s. Isaiah 40:29-31. You will not grow weary when I am empowering you. Seek Me for what I am leading you to do and do only that. Together with Me. That task you’re thinking about even as you read this, lay it down. In My lap. Ask Me what I’m doing with that, or even if I ever asked you to do it. If it is something I have laid before you, then let Me take it over for you. Let Me do it through you, in you, for you, together with you. In your own power, it will be but a wearisome burden keeping you from greater things and wearying everyone around you. But in My power, we can do even the smallest of tasks together in beautiful ways that shine My beauty. Together, we will build more than you could ever imagine, touch hearts with My grace, shake up their world, and draw them to Me. We can pour out My Living Water on the thirsty, love them through My love, show them Who I really am.
Come, beloved. Ask Me what I want you to do, and then do only that. Together with Me. In My strength. Burnout comes when you’re doing more than I asked you and you’re doing it in your own power. I didn’t call you to burn out. I called you to rest in Me. Matthew 11:29-30. The only burning that should be going on is your heart on fire for Me, enjoying My unending love and contagiously sharing it with those around you. Matthew 22:37-40.
