Pray for Missionary Pilot Ryan’s Release from Prison

As Mission Aviation Fellowship pilot Ryan Koher and two elderly South African volunteers, W. J. du Plessis and Eric Dry, near four months of imprisonment without formal charges in Mozambique, let’s pray all the more fervently for their release. Here is the latest update from MAF:

“At the end of four months, Mozambican law requires the prosecutor to file the results of their investigation with a judge. Since the four-month period ends on the weekend, we anticipate the report on March 6. However, we have learned throughout this journey that dates are often ‘fluid,’ and action may not happen when stated or required.

“Please pray that the prosecutor will not charge Ryan and the two South African men with supporting terrorism and will immediately release them from jail. They were arrested on November 4 as they were preparing to load supplies on the airplane for an orphanage in the northern part of the country where insurgents have been attacking towns and infrastructure. Pray that justice will be done, and they will be released!

“Through your prayers and those of many others around the world, Ryan has been strengthened by the Lord through this challenging time and has stood as a strong witness for Christ to those around him…. Thank you for your prayers for Ryan. We trust in the Lord’s mercy and timing.”

Missionary Pilot Imprisoned in Mozambique

Lord, we ask You for a miracle. Please release Ryan, W.J. and Eric from prison swiftly. The prosecutor has been gathering evidence against them in order to charge them with aiding terrorists, when they were delivering vitamins and other supplies to orphans. Lord, please have mercy. Show up in the prosecutor’s dreams. Invade his space. Get up in his face, commanding he press no further, that these three not be charged with a crime of any sort, but rather commended for helping children in need. Give him such fear of the Lord he will repent of any false accusations and request they be released immediately.

As they wait, please be a Shield around Ryan, W.J. and Eric, guarding their minds, hearts and bodies from harm. Fill their cells and the entire prison with Your angels and the power of Your felt presence. Perform signs and miracles and wonders to turn all eyes to You, and give the Christians opportunities to share Your Good News with the lost around them.

Be near to all persecuted Christians in Mozambique, O God of Love. Protect their families and strengthen their faith. Give them courage to forgive, and bring their persecutors to repentance. Make the way for the violence to end and peace to reign. Invade terrorist camps with Your angel armies, and give every violent offender such a clear power encounter with Almighty God they will drop their weapons, fall to their knees in fear of the Lord and surrender to Your sovereignty. Bring Muslims to faith in Jesus by the thousands. Give every Muslim a deep repulsion to the hatred and terror. Fill them instead with a longing for Truth and Love. Convert terrorist leaders, changing their lives so dramatically hundreds of Muslim extremists turn their allegiance from serving Satan’s purposes to following Love. John 10:10.
