Prayers for Ukraine and the World

Don’t grow weary in prayer. We have a Friend in the highest of places and He is still very much in charge.

• Lord, please direct rescuers to those who are trapped or in danger, and protect them as they get people to safety.
• Heal the wounded, rescue those who are dying, be a Shield around the hospitals and clinics, provide for medical supplies, workers, and working equipment; but mostly, please protect people from harm.
• Supply shelter, food, water, warmth for both those deep within Ukraine and the thousands of refugees waiting to cross the border.
• Open up safe places for refugees in the countries where they have fled. Provide for all their needs and bless those who open their homes and help in other ways.
• Be a Shield around every Christian in Ukraine, Russia, and countries receiving refugees. Provide over-abundantly for all their needs, so they can freely share with others and be a safe place for those fleeing harm and those in desperate need. Empower them to speak hope, peace, freedom through Christ, and even joy in the midst of all the tragedy, sharing Your Gospel with a demonstration of how Your love makes all the difference. Give the lost a deep hunger for You. Open up conversations that lead to salvation. Transform hearts so dramatically Your Gospel will spread like wildfire all across Eastern Europe and beyond.
• Assign Your angel armies to shield Kyiv, its citizens, the soldiers guarding the city, and Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky. Frustrate every effort of the enemy to kill and destroy. We speak LIFE over Kyiv, over its citizens, over the Ukrainian army, over those protecting their country, over the president and all those who stand with him. Rise up, O Lord, and show Yourself strong on behalf of the persecuted.
• Throw the Russian forces into confusion. Break the lines of communication. Give both soldiers and those commanding them the understanding and also the courage to say “no” to the atrocities they are ordered to commit, to abandon the mission, to turn around and fight for what is right, realizing that fighting against their violent tyrant is actually fighting for their country and people. Give them a hope for their future so fervent they will do what it takes to secure it, especially by seeking You. Jeremiah 29:11-13.
• Pressure every Russian oligarch into such tight financial and restrictive corners they see the whole world against them and not only cease supporting their president, but turn against him. Show them the futility of trusting in earthly power and treasures. Haunt their dreams, get up in their face, and show them Your glory, instilling in them fear of the Lord and an overwhelming hunger for the love, grace, and freedom only found in Christ.
• Exterminate the demonic forces that drive Vladimir Putin and also the president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, to do evil. Break their ties to each other. Frustrate Satan’s every effort, crush his every plan, destroy his every means for destruction. Release Putin’s and Lukashenko’s minds and hearts from Satan’s control, and set them free to see You as You truly are, to repent, and to be saved.
• We ask You, Lord, to raise up and put into place shields over the entire country of Ukraine (and any other country Russia or China plans to invade). Shield especially the cities now in the line of Russia’s fire. Rescue Mariupol, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Odesa and any other planned targets. If the brave soldiers on Snake Island are still alive, rescue them, too, Lord. Meet the people in those cities in such powerful ways, they will see Your salvation and worship You as God alone. Show such resolve and courage in every Ukrainian soldier and citizen that the Russians ordered to fire upon both civilian and military targets will be so overcome with shame, they will drop their weapons and lead the entire Russian army to turn their tanks around and leave.
• Raise up the mothers of Russia to fight for their soldier sons’ lives and futures. Raise up the entire population of Russia to fight against the evil their leaders have forced upon both Ukrainian and Russian citizens. Raise up those in the Russian military, police force, and in political and other influential spheres who will stand up and say, “No,” to war and tyranny, providing for the release of the almost 6,500 protesters (including children) who have been arrested or detained and protecting the rights of the thousands more who join daily in protests all throughout the country.
• Break the lines of communication such that government lies are cut off completely and only true news reaches all the people of Russia.
• Give the leaders of every nation wisdom to bring an end to this war without escalation. Show them how to cut off every means Putin has to either continue the war or start another one. Block his access to nuclear weapons. Block his commands. Block his ability to even speak or type out an order. Block him entirely, Lord. And put the fear of the Lord in him, in those who follow him, and in every world leader whose intentions are evil. Show them that tyranny does not pay. Clear their minds to see the error of their ways, to repent, to turn to the Lord for salvation, and to lead their nations into Your arms.
• Lord, so many children and youth have been caught up in this war. Please hold them close to Your heart and show them Your mercy. Meet them in deep and powerful ways, such that they see Your love clearly and cling to You as their Safe Place. Heal their wounds, whether physical, emotional or spiritual. Rescue them from the evil plans Satan has for their lives. Show them and their families such love through Christians and through Your voice and touch that they will decide now, today, to spend their lives fighting for Love, for true freedom, and for Your eternal purposes.
• Give every person involved in this war, whether soldiers, civilians, rescuers, medical or other workers, political leaders, refugees, influencers, educators, media workers, those all across the world watching everything unfold, … give us all such a deep hunger for You, the lost will turn to You and be saved, and Christians will rise up and live for You with such love and fervency that the darkness trembles and Your Light blasts forth to cover the whole Earth.
• Raise up a vast and mighty army of prayer warriors that will pray for the purposes of Your heart, push back the enemy, and share Your Good News with every heart in every nation.
• Awaken Russia to You, O Lord. Awaken Ukraine. Awaken the whole world to Your love. May we turn from the darkness and walk in the Light.
