INDIA: India’s record-breaking heat wave (as high as 52.9 Celsius or 126.1 Fahrenheit) has caused up to 87 deaths and nearly 25,000 heat stroke cases in recent weeks.
Lord, please protect those in danger, provide relief in time of need, and give every heart a longing for You. Bring Christians to give them cool water in Your name and to share Your good news in a way they can easily understand. Put into office leaders who will stop the persecution of Christians and open the way for Your good news to be preached widely. Don’t let even one more person die without hearing the gospel and having the chance to respond. Awaken India to You.
PANAMA: About 300 families, nearly the entire Cuna indigenous community of Gardi Sugdub, an island just 366 meters long and 137 meters wide in the San Blas archipelago, has moved to new housing provided by the government on the mainland. They are the first of 63 island communities expected to relocate due to rising sea levels.
Thank You for this provision, Lord. Now, please bring Christians to share Your love with the Cuna in a way they can easily understand. Open their hearts to desire You, so when the good news is preached, they will recognize it as truth and choose You as Savior. Use this change in their circumstances to bring about eternal change in their hearts. Awaken the Cuna and all of Panama to You, O God.
SRI LANKA: At least 14 have died and many are still missing in monsoon floods and mudslides.
ITALY and GERMANY: Three people died in Italy and six in Germany due to floodwaters this past weekend. Thousands have been evacuated.
Lord, please rescue those who are trapped, heal those who are wounded, comfort those who mourn and rebuild the lives of all who have lost so much. When they cry out to You for help, come quickly to their aid and provide for them in such a way they will know You are the One who did that. Give the lost a hunger for Your love, and bring Christians to love them, care for their needs and share with them Your good news. Awaken every heart in each of these nations to You.
