Hope for Los Angeles

This month and next, one million Christians across Los Angeles are fasting, praying and sharing Christ with their communities. Then on April 11, a massive crowd is expected in the L.A. Memorial Coliseum for a time of worship, sharing testimonies, hearing the Word preached and baptizing those who choose to give their lives to Jesus. Teams are already forming to minister to people from many cultures in their own languages. (Charlene Aaron, CBN News, March 16, 2026)

Much of the inspiration for this Hope L.A. event came from the Azusa Street Revival of 1906-1915, marked by interracial unity and joyous worship in a time of extreme segregation. Thousands of Christians from many cultures came together to worship the Lord with all their hearts, and He answered with miraculous healings and a great movement of His Spirit that spread from Los Angeles to more than 50 nations.

“I believe that God wants to pour His Spirit out in such a way where entire universities are shut down for what God is doing,” said Mando Matthews, founder of Hope California.

Lord, we ask You for a great movement of Your Spirit even now, a pouring out of Your love over every heart all throughout L.A. in such a way that they won’t be able to resist Your grace. March Your army into every dark corner of that city and light it up with Your love. Set people on fire for You, Lord. Bring back the prodigals. Save the lost. And grow Your church by the millions. We ask You, Lord, for signs and miracles and wonders like only You can do, for addictions broken, marriages healed, families reunited, whole communities choosing to follow You, prisoners set free to dance in Your love and light, young people turning away from the wrong paths they’re on to now run into Your arms. Transform every heart so dramatically the entire city, and even other nations, are affected by Your grace. Equip Your church, Lord, to disciple new believers and grow them strong in Your Word. Send out Your missionaries from L.A. into the world, purified by Your grace and ready to cross every barrier to see Your kingdom come to the nations. Bring Muslims, Buddhists, Jews, atheists, even satanists into such an unforgettable contact with the Living God that they are moved to repentance and receive Jesus as their Savior. Give wisdom to every team, every speaker, every leader in this event, and use them for Your glory to speak Your words that pierce hardened hearts and melt them with Your truth. Awaken every heart in L.A. to You. In Your name, Jesus. Amen.

Revival starts here. With me. It’s easy to watch others connect with the Lord in powerful ways and think, “Why doesn’t that happen to me?” But the Lord is right here with you where He’s always been, waiting for you to surrender, to let Him tear down every barrier so you can feel His touch, hear His voice, walk out in His Spirit’s power.
