The Spirit of God has been sweeping across college campuses in the US, awakening hundreds of thousands of young people to His love.
In September of 2023, just a few months after the Asbury Awakening, 5,000 students gathered to worship at Alabama’s Auburn University, with 200 spontaneously stepping into a nearby lake to be baptized. Since that first UniteUS event, more than 120,000 students have shown up for similar awakenings in dozens of universities throughout the country, with thousands choosing to follow Jesus.
“When God gave me the vision for Unite Auburn, I could have never imagined what was coming,” UniteUS founder and evangelist Tonya Prewett told CBN News.
“I remember standing at [the] baptisms after the Auburn event in the middle of thousands of students just praising God and thinking how can this stop? And it hasn’t. He keeps doing it. Again and again.”
Tonya told Fox News she believes what’s happening on campuses is part of a larger move of God among Gen Z. “Students right now are so hungry for truth and for hope,” she explained, “and I think they’ve looked for it in every other place, and they’re realizing that the only truth and hope that they need is found in Jesus Christ.”
“Even in the midst of heartbreak, tragedy, and the evil we see around us, we cling to this truth: God is not finished. Darkness will not have the last word.
“Gen Z rising. Bold. Unashamed! Hungry for revival! What the enemy meant for harm, God is turning into a testimony of His glory!”

“What I think is so powerful about the whole movement is that it’s been so saturated in prayer,” explained Tonya’s daughter, Madison Prewett Troutt in a CBN interview. “The reason it got started in the first place was because my mom was just walking on campus and praying every single day by herself…. And then she started gathering, you know, more people and said, ‘Hey, let’s pray. Let’s pray for revival. Let’s pray for salvation. Let’s pray for repentance. Let’s pray for a move of God to sweep across our college campus.'”

Father God, please protect these new believers and ignite them with passion for Your Word. Set them free from the chains that have bound them to anxiety, fear, depression, addictions, pornography and other strongholds. Tear down every wall that has blocked them from oneness with You, and draw them all the nearer every day. Open up for them the fullness of abundant life in You. When they read the Bible, when they pray, when they worship You, and even as they go along throughout their day, meet with them in powerful ways. Carry them through every trial. Draw them into churches that will love and disciple them well. Transform them so dramatically by Your grace and love others around them will see the difference You make in their lives and also be drawn to You. Call out each of these young people who responded to Your outpouring of love. Show them the paths You have for them and guide them through. Set them on fire with passion for You, until they have surrendered every corner of their lives to You to let You have full control. And use them for Your glory to bring forth Your kingdom here on Earth.
For the upcoming UniteUS events, we ask You to guide the leaders to the places You have prepared for them to lead worship and revivals. Bring to them the spiritually hungry, the lost, the lonely, the backslidden and those from all walks of life. Draw them up into such a flood of Your grace, they will give in to Your love and receive Your salvation. Raise up a generation of missionaries, evangelists and Christian couples who know the Word of God and live it, who will not only preach the good news but demonstrate Your love and truth in such powerful ways they won’t be able to resist You.
Lord, we see You moving, the way You’re pouring Your love on hearts in the USA and all throughout this world. Thank You, Jesus. We ask You for more! O Father, pour out Your love in increasing measures and unprecedented ways over our churches, our families, our friendships, and over every heart all across this Earth. Don’t leave even one heart dry. Save the lost. Heal the hurting. Bring the ruthless to their knees. Lift up the lonely. Mend what is broken. Set the sinners free.
And begin, O Lord, in me. It is Your love we crave. Satisfy me now with that everlasting flow that never runs dry, that love poured out on the cross that purifies, transforms and sets us apart, glowing with Your glory. Ignite all of our hearts now with such love now. Make us Your love-and-truth-spreaders, history-makers by Your hand, planting the seeds of Your Word in the hearts of everyone around us, and watching those seeds take root and grow unto salvation. Because that’s what You do, Lord. You Love. You forgive. You heal. You save. Awaken us to Your love.
