Pray Christ will Meet Muslims in Their Dreams

Most of the 4,849 Christians martyred for their faith last year were killed at the hands of Muslims.

They attack, abduct, rape, torture and kill, all in the name of “God,” whom they don’t know. If they truly knew Him, they would love, for God is Love. 1 John 4:8.

Here at the Prayer Wall, we pray nearly daily for God to lift the veil from the eyes of Muslims so they can see Him as He truly is, and to give them a hunger for Truth so strong they seek Him with all their hearts and find Him. Jeremiah 29:13.

We also ask for the Lord to meet them in dreams, visions and other miraculous ways, especially in countries closed off to the Gospel, where Bibles are not available, Christians are persecuted, and missionaries are not permitted.

He is answering! In fact, just after the war between Hamas and Israel began, about 200 Palestinian men in Gaza dreamed about Jesus in the same night, and then sought out Christians who had offered to do Bible study with them and asked to know more about Christ.

During Ramadan February 18-March 19, devoted Muslims will be fasting daily for the very purpose of seeking God. It is not uncommon during this yearly festival for a Bible to appear where their Quran once sat or for Jesus to visit them in dreams or visions, robed in white, inviting them to believe in Him.

For this reason, we choose the same dates every year for our 30 Days of Prayer for Global Awakening, and have added a daily “Parallel Prayer,” so that no matter what area of the world we are praying for each day, we are also praying for Muslims to encounter Christ.

“Muslims are very aware of dreams and visions. They believe dreams are a direct way that Allah chooses to reveal himself to people…. You will meet few Muslim-background believers who have come to Christ without an experience of this nature.”

Mike Edens, IMB.org

My husband and I encountered this while sharing Christ with Afghans. Although Jesus spoke to them through Christians’ love and through His Word, it was after a trusted relative appeared to the father of the household in a dream, telling him to believe in Jesus, that he and his wife courageously did so, and then boldly shared the good news with their Afghani neighbors, despite fierce opposition from Muslim leaders in the community.

Even a former Hindu recently told a friend of ours how he met Christ in a dream while visiting a Muslim country. Now a Christian taxi driver in his home country of Nepal, he daily shares the gospel with those he drives, leading many to faith.

Lord, thank You because nothing is impossible for You. Even in places where barriers to the gospel loom high and missionaries are not allowed, You are still there, calling all people to Yourself. We ask You to do that all the more now in these days of such darkness. Flood every heart with Your light and bring forth a great awakening to You. Meet Muslims, Hindus and all those who are lost without Christ in their dreams. Give them visions from Your heart to theirs, showing them Your great love and extending to them Your invitation to salvation through Jesus. Make a way for every person to hear the good news, especially where there seems to be no way. For those who have experienced You in powerful ways but still have not believed, remind them now of the truth You spoke in those encounters. Give them such a deep hunger for You they will lay down their idols, search for You with all their hearts, and surrender to Your love. Tear down every wall, break every chain and set the captives free to worship You alone as the One True God, the One whose name is Love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

During this year’s Ramadan, as Muslims diligently seek to experience God in powerful ways, let’s join them in praying they do! Enter your email address below to get the daily prayers, maps and verses delivered to your inbox in time for your daily quiet times with God. And invite others from your church, Bible study or Life Group to also join in.

Faithful Muslims will be fasting from sunup to sundown each day during Ramadan. Would you like to do the same? See our So You Think You Can’t Fast page for ideas on how to do this safely and biblically.

They will also be joining together as families for a special meal each night to break their fast. Would you like to do that, too? See our suggestions in the Dinner and a Prayer section on our 30 Days page.
