INDIA: At least 22 people, including a family of four, were killed by an elephant in 12 or more separate attacks over the last two weeks in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand state.
PHILIPPINES: A massive mound of garbage collapsed at a landfill in Binaliw village, Cebu City, on Thursday, killing 11 or more workers. At least 12 have been rescued, but dozens are still missing.
VENEZUELA: Around 65-115 of perhaps 800 or more political prisoners have been released since President Nicolas Maduro was taken to New York to face narcoterrorism charges.
UKRAINE: RUSSIA attacks on various cities killed several people over the weekend, injured others and knocked out power to thousands of homes in Kyiv.
USA: A series of shootings in Mississippi by Daricka Moore (m, 24) left six dead, including a seven-year-old girl Friday night.
ECUADOR: Locals under violent pressure from gangs are fighting back in Puerto Lopez, where nine people were killed last month, including a baby. Last year was the country’s most violent year on record, with a murder rate of 52 out of every 100,000 people.
AUSTRALIA: A heatwave fueled bushfires which have destroyed about 900,000 acres and killed at least one person in Victoria.
GAZA: Eight died in winter storms that lashed camps for the displaced
EUROPE: Winter storm Goretti’s high winds and extreme cold caused destruction and blackouts in several countries, and killed one man in the UK.
Loving Father, please rescue those who are trapped, in danger or missing. Release the innocent from prison. Heal those who are injured, comfort those who mourn, provide for those in need, and rebuild the lives of those who have lost much. In the midst of terror, bring peace through Your love. Speak to those who fear for the future, and show them Your plan for their salvation. Do all these things in such a way that they will know You are the One who did that. When they cry out to You, answer them. Place within every soul a deep thirst for You, including the murderer Daricka and narcoterrorist Nicolas Maduro. Remove every barrier to salvation and give the lost courage to choose You as Savior and Lord. Bring loving Christians to them to share Your Good News. For Christians who are injured or who have lost loved ones, please carry them through this difficult time like only You can. Renew their strength and empower them to encourage others around them who are also hurting, offering them hope, a safe shoulder to cry on, and a clear presentation of the gospel. Bless Christians so abundantly they will also abundantly bless others in need, as they share Your good news with the lost. Bring forth a mighty movement of Your Spirit all across each of these nations, leading thousands to faith in You. Open the eyes of the spiritually blind to see You as You truly are, and awaken every heart to Your love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
