What will you give Jesus this Christmas?
A prayer from my heart to the One this season is for:
Thank You, Father, for Your grace, for the free gift of eternal life and for sending Your Son to this Earth to demonstrate Your love for us by dying for our sin and making the way for our salvation. If I could choose a thousand paths this world would give, I’d choose Your path every time. For You are my Strength, my Shield, my Song, my Love, my Life, my All. Without You, colors just aren’t as bright, moments lose their power, meaning is void, and joy fizzles in pride. When I step out in obedience to the Sovereign way You point me, You not only go before me, You empower me from within, You walk beside me, and You are my Rear Guard. You turn my everyday moments into God-awesome ones, my feeble attempts at conversation into God-anointed, life-changing seeds that grow long after I’ve left the room, because You are still there as Gardener, growing something beautiful, transforming hearts, doing that thing You do when You set us free and leave us in awe of You. All I ever want for Christmas is Jesus. And all I ever hope for the new year is more and more of You, turning my life upside down into Your arms so I can rest … in You. I want to be as a ring upon Your finger, pointing to Your beauty and just along for the ride as You work great things by Your mighty hand….
