At least 15 have died, including children and rabbis, and about 40 are injured after Sajid Akram, 50, originally from INDIA, and his son Naveed, 24, open-fired on Jewish families celebrating Hanukkah at Bondi Beach in Sydney, AUSTRALIA on Sunday. Bystander Ahmed al Ahmed, 43, from SYRIA was shot 4-5 times in the shoulder as he heroically accosted one of the gunmen and wrestled the gun from his hand. Thank You, Lord, for Ahmed’s courage. Please heal his wounds, as well as the 40 Jews who were injured. Make the way for every Jew and Muslim involved in this incident to hear Your good news in a way they can easily understand and be saved. Cast out their fear with Your perfect love and give them a hunger for Your truth.
Nearly 40 people died due to heavy rain and flash floods in Safi, MOROCCO. Meanwhile, nine African migrants on their way to Europe died from exposure to freezing temperatures in the mountains along Morocco’s border with ALGERIA. Father God, please have mercy on those going through such terrible conditions, both with freezing weather and floods. Don’t let any more migrants or Moroccans die without hearing the good news about Jesus. Visit them in their dreams and show them the way to salvation. Give them such powerful encounters with the Living God that they lay down everything they’ve been running after that isn’t You and surrender to Your love.
Two people died — Ella Cook from Birmingham, Alabama and UZBEKISTAN national Mukhammad Aziz Umurzokov — and nine were injured in a mass shooting at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, USA on Saturday. In another mass shooting in Brooklyn, New York, six teens were shot by two masked gunmen after a Sweet 16 party. Lord, please comfort the families of those who died and heal those who were injured. Give the lost a hunger for You so strong they will seek You with all their hearts and find You.
A gunman with ties to Islamic State killed two US soldiers and a civilian interpreter, and injured thee members of the Syrian security forces who clashed with him near Palmyra, SYRIA on Saturday. Father, please comfort the families of those who were killed, and show them Your love. Meet the assailant in his dreams in such powerful ways he will tremble with fear of the Lord, and show him the way to salvation. Give him courage to lay down his false religion of hatred and violence and choose the God of Love.
Thousands fleeing last week’s floods now face yet more heavy rains, flooding and possible levee breaks in Washington state, USA. God Almighty, please have mercy on those who have lost so much. Rebuild their lives by Your mighty hand and through Your loving care. Bring Christians to the lost to show them Your love and share with them Your good news. Provide for all their needs so abundantly they will know it is You and believe.
