US citizen Kevin Rideout, 50, an SIM (Serving in Mission) missionary pilot working in NIGER, was kidnapped Monday near the airport in Niamey by three suspected Islamic militants, who fled with him toward the MALI border. Lord, please protect Kevin and his family from harm, use him to share the good news with his captors, and get him to safety quickly. Give terrorists and all Muslims in Niger a deep hunger for Truth that drives them to seek and find Jesus.
More than 70 Christians and seekers were recently arrested and interrogated in eastern CHINA, some during church gatherings, others in their homes and workplaces. Pastor Ezra Jin Mingri was arrested in Beihai October 10, along with dozens of other Zion Church pastors and workers, 20 of whom remain in detention. As one of the largest churches in the country, Zion has a membership of around 5,000 in close to 50 cities. In addition, police raided a Christian homeschooling community in Northwest China, interrogating teachers and shutting down the school. Father God, please be a Shield around every Christian in China and keep them from persecution and harm. Spread the good news through them to the lost and increase Your church by the millions. Cast out fear with Your perfect love, and give every arrested Christian favor with authorities. Perform signs and miracles to point all eyes to You. Change the hearts of persecutors to hunger for Truth and choose Jesus.
Last week, villagers in remote areas of LAOS destroyed the homes of three Christian families and confiscated their land and livestock. The Christians fled and have been living under a lean-to. Lord, please protect these believers and provide for all their needs. Give back to them 200-fold what has been stolen from them. But most of all, give their persecutors a longing for the One who gives abundant life. May they seek You with all their hearts and find You, Jesus.
Two priests, Custodio Ballester and Jesús Calvo, along with journalist Armando Robles, were tried October 1 in SPAIN for “hate crimes” during a 2017 talk show, when they spoke out against radical Islam. Custodio faced a three-year prison sentence and fines. Praise God, they have all now been acquitted. Thank You, Lord, for this acquittal. Please turn every heart to You in Spain. Give Muslims dreams and visions of You that lead them to lay down their religion of hatred and violence, and surrender to the God of Love.
Next Sunday is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church, when Christians throughout the world gather to pray for our brothers and sisters facing poverty, imprisonment, violence, and even death for their faith.

International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church
Read Isaiah 60:1-2, as you pray with us today.
Lord, we ask You for Christians all throughout the world who are undergoing persecution at this time. Give them strength and courage to endure, forgive, love, and proclaim Your Good News, even in the face of great hardship. Give them wisdom every moment to know what to do, where to go, what to say; and empower them, Lord, to be lights in the darkness, pointing every heart to the glory of Your love.
For those who are imprisoned or in danger of arrest or torture, rescue them and their families, please, Lord, by Your merciful hand. Deliver them in such miraculous ways, their persecutors will fall to their knees in worship of the One True God.
And for those of us throughout the world who are facing each of our own difficulties and hardships, make us bold witnesses. Anoint and empower us to share Your love every moment in ways that will spark deep hunger in the hearts of the lost around us to know the God of Love. For the day has come now, Lord, where You are bringing the nations to our own neighborhoods. Give us courage to reach out and love. Tear down every barrier, and bring the lost to You. In Your name, Jesus, we pray. Amen.
