Last week, over 1,000 Christians gathered in the heart of Jerusalem to worship the Lord and pray for peace on the eve of the two-year anniversary of the October 7 Hamas invasion. Just two days later, the first portion of a ceasefire was signed, and on Monday, all 20 living hostages returned home.
Christians also gathered last week at the site where 44 people were abducted and 378 massacred during the Nova music festival. Many of the hostages who returned Monday were abducted while helping save lives during the Hamas invasion.
But the war is not over yet. The real battle is for the souls of the more than nine million Israelis and nearly six million Palestinians (two million in Gaza) who have yet to experience the saving power of Jesus. Already about 2,000 Israelis and nearly 68,000 Palestinians have died without Christ, as both countries are more than 97% unreached.
As revival erupts around the world, let’s pray Israel and Palestine will awaken to Christ’s love and the battle for their hearts, families and nations will at last be won.
Lord, we thank You for your armies of thousands throughout the world who have prayed for peace in the Middle East and for the hostages to return home. Thank You for answering, O God, for reuniting families. But now, we earnestly seek You for the hearts of every Palestinian and every Israeli. Lift the veil from their eyes so they can see You as You truly are. Give them a hunger so fierce they will seek Truth with all their hearts and find Jesus. Visit them in their dreams, speak to them in visions throughout the day, touch their hearts in powerful ways and show them the way to salvation. Bring loving Christians to them who will care for their needs, counsel them to healing and share with them Your good news. Raise into positions of leadership those who will open the way for Your gospel to freely be preached to every heart in Israel, Gaza, the West Bank and beyond. For only You are the Way, the Truth and the Life, Jesus. Only in You do the nations find the meaning they seek. Only in You do we experience the forgiveness that leads to abundant life here on earth and eternal life in Heaven. Don’t let even one more person die, or live, without hearing Your good news. In Your name we pray, Jesus. Amen.
