Why do we keep looking somewhere else for answers, when there is only one Way to the love, joy, peace and fulfillment we seek?
We run all day, but forget about inviting Jesus into our schedule. We have time to watch our favorite show on TV, but no time to spend alone with the One this life is for. We go to counselors, but forget it’s Perfect Love who casts out our fear and anxiety. 1 John 4:18.
If we would but cast our cares on Him, He would fill us with His peace. 1 Peter 5:7.
Lord, we have chased our own agendas, run over people to push them, only to find we were wrong all along. We have sought what we thought would satisfy, only to find ourselves empty again. Father, these days are trying, hard for all of us in so many ways. Please empty us of all the ways we seek after what will not satisfy. Calm our anxious hearts. Settle our minds on You. For You are still Sovereign, and You have a plan through all of this. Strengthen us, nourish us, protect us, empower us to love like You do, and satisfy us with You. Matthew 6:33.
