VIETNAM: Typhoon Bualoi killed eight, injured seven and left 17 fishermen missing yesterday, before moving on to LAOS. Lord, please rescue those in danger, heal the wounded, provide for those in need and comfort those who mourn. Do it in a way that points all eyes to You. So many in Vietnam have yet to hear Your good news. Make the way for every heart to know about Christ and be saved.
INDIA: At least 124 were injured and 40 died in a stampede in Tamil Nadu, where tens of thousands gathered Saturday for a rally. Father God, please comfort those who mourn, heal the wounded, and use this tragedy to turn all eyes to You. Break the chains that bind Hindus to false gods, give them a hunger for Truth, and make the way for them to know the good news so they can be saved.
SRI LANKA: Eight Buddhist monks died and six others were injured in a cable car crash in Kurunegala district Wednesday. Lord, please give the monks who survived this crash a hunger for Truth. Lift the veil from their eyes so they will see You as You truly are. Meet them in powerful ways and show them the way to salvation. Give them courage to lay down their idols and choose You as the One True God. Then use them to turn many more to Christ.
ARGENTINA: Thousands of protesters took to the streets this weekend after three young women’s murders were live-streamed. Lord, in the midst of such horrific evil, as hearts are stirred to stop violence, give them a hunger for the God of Love. Bring Christians to them to love them and show them the way to salvation, and bring about a movement of Your Spirit so strong thousands will come to faith in You.
CHINA: Courts pronounced 39 Ming family members guilty of criminal activities Monday; 11 who ran scam centers in MYANMAR face execution, 11 life imprisonment; the rest 5-24 years in jail. Father, so many millions in China still have not heard the gospel and have given themselves over to serve satan’s purposes like this family has. Grip their hearts now with regret, repulsion over their sin, and repentance. As the Mings are in jail, and as 11 face death, come and meet them in powerful ways. Show them the way to salvation and save them, before it’s too late. Lift the darkness from over China, and fill the whole country with Your light. Bring Your salvation near until every heart has had the chance to hear Your good news and be saved.
MOROCCO: Hundreds of youth in at least 11 cities protested this weekend against the government. Lord, please turn every heart to You. Show them You alone are the Way, the Truth and the Life, that only in You is there true freedom. Meet every Muslim in their dreams and show them Christ. Give them a hunger for You so strong, they will lay down everything to follow Christ. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Lord, in each of these countries, it is likely those involved in each of these tragedies did not know You personally, and many may never have heard the good news of Your plan for salvation. Father, have mercy on those who survived and those who are mourning, and all those who have heard about these events. Quicken their hearts with a powerful hunger for Truth so desperate they will seek You with all their hearts and find You. Rescue those in danger, comfort those who grieve, and speak to the hearts of those who are afraid or hurting. Touch each heart in such personal ways they will at last realize You are the One they long for. When they cry out to You, answer them, O Lord, in a way they will recognize You. Give the lost a longing for peace, meaning, acceptance and love; and then satisfy them with Your felt presence. Bring Christians to them to show them Your love, care for their needs and share the good news of Your salvation. Bless Your people abundantly so they will also abundantly share with those in need around them. Bring Christian counselors, medical workers, builders and aid workers to those in need. And set the captives free, Lord. Lift the veil from the eyes of the lost so they will see You as You truly are and surrender their hearts to You as Savior. In the midst of every trial and tragedy, push back the enemy’s purposes, and bring forth Yours. Convince us of Your truth. Let us feel Your love like never before. And bring forth Your Kingdom in every heart, home, city and nation. Yes, Lord, awaken the whole Earth to Your salvation. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
