We have been praying here at PrayerWall.pw for 12-year-old Sophia Forchas, who was shot in the head during the mass shooting at her school last month. After weeks in a coma, she now shows signs of steady progress toward recovery.
Letter from Sophia’s parents:
“On behalf of our entire family, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone near and far, for the continued prayers, the outpouring of love, and the tremendous support for our precious Sophia. We are humbled by the countless individuals across the globe who have lifted her up in prayer….
“Your prayers have been powerful. Sophia surviving this horrific attack is a miracle. Her healing progress is nothing short of miraculous; an undeniable testament to the mercy and intervention of our Lord Jesus Christ. Each day we uncover new revelations of moments and circumstances that kept her alive and made her recovery possible. There are simply too many to be dismissed as coincidence. God has heard our prayers and wrapped Sophia in His healing embrace.
“We’re thrilled to share that Sophia continues to make steady progress, showing promising signs of neurological recovery. Her doctors remain cautiously optimistic, and her exceptional medical team is preparing for her transition this week from acute care at HCMC to an inpatient rehabilitation program. Though she still has a long journey ahead, filled with extensive therapy, her resilience continues to inspire hope at every step.
“Sophia is strong, brave, and unwavering in her fight toward healing. We ask that you continue to pray for her as she walks this road to recovery.
“It is by God’s will that she has come this far. We are eternally grateful to our loving Father, who hears and answers prayers….
“Please continue to pray. Pray for peace and when you pray, move your feet. Let us worship God together and walk forward in Faith, Hope, and Love. Together we can create a better tomorrow.” (Letter courtesy of the Forchas family, GoFundMe)

The shooting occurred at a prayer mass a few days before classes began at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Two children, ages 8 and 10, died, and 21 others were wounded in the attack, 18 of them children. Of the wounded, Sophia’s condition has been the most critical.
Father God, thank You for the bravery of teachers and children, for the ways You rescued and protected so many, and for saving the lives of these 21 who were wounded. Please heal Sophia completely by Your mercy and power. Thank You for this miracle of saving her life, and for the progress toward recovery she is making. Please give the doctors wisdom at every turn. Wrap her up in Your arms and let her hear Your voice and feel You with her right now. Touch her brain, link together the proper neurological paths and heal her completely, Lord. We ask You also for Lydia Kaiser, who sustained a traumatic brain injury from a bullet while helping another child. She is home now with her family, recovering from her injury. Please heal her and all the children at Annunciation School. Heal their hearts, minds and bodies completely. Comfort them with Your love and give them peace. Draw any who are lost up into Your arms to be saved. Carry every parent, child, sibling and friend through this difficult time in a way that they know it is You, and use this terrible event to bring forth a hunger for You in every heart, a longing for the God of love and for salvation that gives eternal life. Provide Christian counselors, ministers and church families to help the children and others affected by the trauma to healing of the heart. Grow Sophia and every child up to know You, love You and serve You with all their hearts all the days of their lives. Don’t let the enemy attack them with further evil, but give them time to heal. Touch them in such powerful ways they are filled with faith and passion for Your purposes from this day onward. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
