Christian students in the US and in many places across the world are gathering today at their school’s flagpole for a Global Student Day of Prayer to pray for their schools, friends, teachers, government, and nation. Let’s join them in prayer that today will be the turning point for this generation to turn to Christ and be saved.
Lord, we ask You for our schools today, that You will block every enemy plan and bring forth Your agendas. Protect our young people from Satan’s assaults on their minds, hearts, bodies and souls. Bring teachers into every school who love You with all their hearts and who will love students into Your arms. For teachers and principals who are lost, we ask You to get up in their face, invade their space, speak to them day and night, frustrate them in every area of their lives until they hunger so deeply for You they surrender to Your love and choose You as Savior. Bring to justice every teacher and principal who pushes Satan’s agendas. Depose them and raise up in their place teachers and principals who will truly care about the students, who will teach truth and academics, who will help students succeed and grow in character and in knowledge. In schools where violence, drugs and other dangers are a constant threat, please guide principals and teachers, and bring onto the school board Christian parents and others You will guide to make wise decisions and set things in motion for those schools to become a safe place for every student who attends, a place where they will learn to read and write and do well in all areas of life, seeking jobs that will bless our society not bring it down. Remind every student who You created them to be. Give them security in their God-given gender, appearance, abilities and acceptance by You. Let every child and teen feel Your love in such transformational ways they will lay down every hindrance and temptation, choose You as Savior and run after You with passion all the days of their lives. We ask You, Lord, for a great awakening in our nation. Move within our government, our schools, our homes and churches. Bring forth such a great outpouring of Your love that those who have resisted Your grace will now give in, and those who have been nominal or prodigal now turn wholeheartedly back to You. Give our youth a hunger for You. Ground them deep in faith. When they call to You, answer them in powerful ways. Give them a passion for Your Word, and clarity to distinguish truth from lies. Bring to them godly relationships who will challenge them to run all the harder after You. Bind Your mind to theirs, so they will see and understand each person and situation through Your eyes, and make wise decisions through the power of Your Spirit, rather than bending to the will of those around them. Deliver them from depression, anxiety, lust, rejection, and every sin, stronghold, mindset, and demon they battle. Raise up leaders from among our youth who will lead other youth into Your arms. And keep them pure, Lord. Be a Shield around their minds and hearts, blocking every evil assault. Keep their eyes and bodies and ears and minds and hearts pure. Bring to them godly spouses who will love You and them with all their hearts; and give them courage as they wait for the one You have for them. We lift up our young people into Your hands, O Lord, for You know the plans You have for them, plans to prosper them and not to harm them, plans to give them a hope and a future. So, we press into Your Word and Your promise, and ask You to bring forth Your purposes in every youth all across our nation and the world today. Break enemy chains, set the captives free, and bring forth a generation holy unto You that will take Your love to the nations and shine Your light into every corner of this world. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
