Last month, in Kaduna state, Fulani tribesmen attacked a Christian village in Kauru county, killing five children, including a one-year-old, and two adults.
Eight other children were also wounded — Mathew Sunday, 14; Jethro Istafanus, 7; Jackson Istafanus, 5; Emmanuel Morris, 14; Agatha Sylvester, 9; Joy Markus, 9; Devine Paul, 6 months; and Mary Ishaya, 12. (Christian Daily International-Morning Star News, September 12)
Lord, please rescue the children of Nigeria. Guard their hearts and protect them from violence and trauma. Be a Shield around every Christian family. Cover them completely beneath Your wings and hide them from those who seek to do them harm. Have mercy on Mathew, Jethro, Jackson, Emmanuel, Agath, Joy, Devine and Mary and the other children and their families who faced terror both in Kauru and Kachia. Heal their bodies, minds and hearts from the trauma they have experienced. Please, Lord, bring an end to the violence. March in Your angel armies and crush the enemy’s plans. Pursue the Fulani with Your relentless love and furious power. Let them see Your angels guarding the Christians they seek to harm, and bring them trembling to their knees in fear of the Lord and repentance. Give them a deep hunger for You and show them the way to salvation. For every Christian or child persecuted in Nigeria, bring 1,000 Fulanis to faith in You, Jesus, and plant hundreds of new churches. For Your everlasting glory. In Your name, Jesus. Amen.
