Whatever you’re going through, however the struggles of this world have weighed you down, lay it all at Jesus’ feet now. And worship Him.
Oh, Jesus, great are You and worthy to be praised. For You were there before the beginning of time, and all things were formed by Your hand. It is in You that we move and breathe and have our being. We stand in wonder that You who hold the highest place in all the heavens and earth would shove all Your glory into a mortal human body and walk among us, letting us see what Love is like. And then You took on all our sin and gave the greatest sacrifice of all through Your death on the cross, so we can truly live. What other god is like this? No, there is no other God but You. You alone are worthy of all our worship.
In the midst of all we’re going through now, Lord, we choose to worship You. For the enemy can do nothing except that You allow it. And if You allow it, O Sovereign Over All, then it is because You are doing something in the midst of it — something good. For You are Good. Give us eyes to see what You are doing in the midst of this present evil, and courage to join You there. Call us up off our beds of self-pity, and out of every pit of depression and anxiety. Raise us up to boldly stand in Love that covers a multitude of sins. Love that cares so much for those who are lost that we speak Your truth, even if it costs us our lives.
Flatten all our idols, Lord, until we find ourselves laid at Your feet, arms outstretched in surrender, with You as our First Love. But, O Jesus, hear our cry. Still so many all across this world have never heard Your name and still do not know of Your love. Reveal Yourself to them. Let them see You as You truly are. You, whose name is the Word, give them the chance to hear Your Good News in a way they can easily understand. Quicken their hunger for You, so they will receive You with arms open wide, until every knee bows and every tongue confesses that You alone are Lord. Fill the whole earth with Your glory, Lord. May Your name be praised from every high mountain and every valley. May this fallen world fall into Your loving grace, revived and awakened to Your love. And may the whole world sing Your praises, Jesus. Beginning with me. Make me an instrument of peace, shining Your love for all to see. May they be drawn to Your joy in me as I speak of Your greatness and beauty, so they also will cast down all their idols and worship You alone as God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
